For those still trying to become Nomads and having trouble finding an affordable van or motorhome don't give up. There are other alternatives that Bob has discussed... Dig through his forum and videos and you will find what you are looking for. Becoming a camp host might work for you? As a camp host you could use a hot tent and have your car which can give you the comfort you might want. Keep on keeping on and believe in yourself!

It’s great to see a passenger van that someone is living out of. So many builds are windowless boxes. Hers feels really open and comfortable.

She did a great job on her van. I really like her simple and easy sink set-up and, I have been pondering several ways to build mine and I think I will use her idea. She looks like she is really enjoying herself, as does everyone Bob interviews. I wish her safe travels.

With both of my kids having been in scouts when they were growing up (and living in an area that knows hurricanes) I have an absolute TON of various camping equipment. I plan on doing my best to incorporate as much of it as possible when I get a van.

We just want to be in a community that is as nice and helpful as we are. You can't choose your neighbors in a stix-n-brix neighborhood, so sometimes you end up next to a negative, hateful person that brings your whole life down. Life is too short for that kind of existence.

The gallon for gray water under the sink takes up unnecessary space. I watched another vanlifer and he doesn't have any gallon for used water. Instead used water just goes out his van (ingenious). So all gallons in his van are clean water.

I have a (likely dumb) couple of questions for anyone that can help. With vans like this, when you add the high top:
    1. Can you still add a roof rack or something to have solar panels on the roof? or is it too tall if that is added?
    2. How do you insulate the top inside? Or does someplace like Fiberine do that too? or is it needed?
Thanks to anyone that can provide some insight:)

Right now I just plan to use a collapsible tub that I rinse/wash out when I do the dishes and dump the gray water once the dishes are done. If I could have an actual gray water setup, that would likely be a heck of a lot easier, though.

Hi bob. Once again a super video. Love these types of vids. Vanlifers is beautiful. L.o.l. to you cody and brian. I would have to live in the city. Cant afford to travel. Sure would like to join a caravan to go to quatrsite ariz. Love this lady and her van. Im claustrophobic to. Nice van ang great set up. Need to see more of these vids. I need everything for including a hightop van. Got to stand up for sure. Start from scratch thing. The money is the problem. Low income. I dont think in texas allows tents in the city. I love the gammel lid and 5 gal. Bucket. Etc. Can buy absorbent at orelleys or auto zone. Pine pellets added. Bags etc. Better than black water tanks to dump. Stop by any trash can for dumping trash bags. No problem. Rent keeps going up in texas. My husband complains about staying in clothes all the time. Dress in a dozen clothes to stay warm in the winter. Sleeping to. We think and pray a lot for the homeless on foot. No car. Where do they hide from the weather and cops. The amount of ppl. Is growing sadly just in the u.s. we have a subcompact. Car. Mits. Mirage . no room. Front seats to let down for a bed. I would get 2 8 inch thick memory foam or 1 twin size. Cut it into. For us for a matress. Need back seat for a bit of insulation from the trunk space. Trunk for storage for clothes and things. This is hard to reduce the clothes amt. Longview Texas here. I do understand the pain about the bundle clothes to stay warm deal. Hopefully something will happen in your favor and you will be able to do the nomad way. You can have what you say so keep proclaiming the positive.

Oh my gosh, you need a change!!!! I will share some thoughts and you take what might help you. Put a car topper on the top of the car so husband can bring his tools along? Insulate with same stuff as a house, I recommend flexible Reflectix applied with aluminum tape. It is not expensive but I know you are one tight budget; ask for leftovers from local contractors or a local Habit For Humanity office or store. Expenses are
much lower in other areas. Texas is wonderful but was hit with newcomers from the US and illegal invaders too fast for the state to adjust, so it is having growing pains....

I believe that I like the openness better. You can see all around you. I don't like closed in places. It's simple as well. It's not a bunch of complicated issues.
