Jimin is captivating and his voice is ethereal.
Jimin’s work ethic is really out of this world but he is so kind to his back up dancers & so humble. Just a good hearted man along with being excellent at his craft.
Jimin is an extremely diverse dancer. He was the top student in contemporary dance at a performing arts high school before joining BTS. He did popping/locking, contemporary/ballet, hip hop, gymnastics/acrobats and is a black belt in taekwondo and trained in kendo (8 years) so the martial arts training with gymnastics allows him to add flips and stunts to his dancing. There are so many exceptional dancers who dance well out there, but there are not many that pull you in with this much of level, and that is Jimin for me. Jimin is ART and distinctively unique and special.

It’s so funny that you would mention black belt cause Jimin is a black belt in Taekwondo. He’s also trained in Chinese martial arts, kendo, geumdo, and hapkido. The skills Jimin has, he can literally beat anyone’s ass. Thats how deadly his skills are. but he’s such a shy, lovable sweetheart that you would never know and people often underestimate him. His martial arts training has had a drastic impact on his dancing. His moves are very precise and sharp at times, but also very fluid and powerful. His dancing also involves a lot of acrobatics which has been used as the highlight for many of BTS dances.
You are absolutely right Jimin is the best dancer right now, he is mesmerizing he can immerse you in the song his voice can be Angelical along with the way he not only moves but express emotion with his body from head to toe, even his hair 😮. In BTS choreographies he unintentionally made iconic parts like on "fire 333" and have very famous fancams, the most viewed so far the fancam fake love. There is a reason why for many years he is been called the "idol of idols " and "the rookies Bible ".

There’s a video compilation where professionap dancers react to his dance compilation. They said his dance can’t be learned and taught. They also said that even with years of practice, jimin’s moves are incredibly hard for them. He has his own style that no one can imitate. He is the axis on stage, you really are bound to look at him when he is performing. He is called the rookies bible in Korea, it means newbie idols see him as their role model and tries to learn his dance.

100% agree with you, the practice is even better than the MV. Only Jimin can outdo Jimin 😂 In my opinion he is the most versatile and expressive dancer in K-pop. BTW, this is Jimin's favourite song too.

Jimin commands your attention every time he dances. His performance/stage presence is magnificent! It’s in his bodyline where you can see the self discipline & training that puts him above others. Bruh, I could totally understand why you like this song the most. It's absolutely phenomenal. Jimin is such an amazing performer and captures his audience attention with his graceful moves and alluring vocals. Set Me Free is my favorite song from him. I'm glad that you took the time to watch the dance practice. We always see dance moves during practice that aren't shown in the mv.
❣Jimin, growing up, since quite young age, even pre mid school, was always into hip hop & r&b music. Aside from Rain, Taeyang, & BoA, Korean idols, known not just for amazing vocals, but their dance ability, Jimin was also heavily influenced, with other role models, such as Chris Brown, & Usher. So it goes to follow he’d also appreciate other equally well known artists who also were amazing dancers & performers aside from vocal ability. It also goes without saying that Jimin, was indeed heavily influenced by MJ. He even taught Jin to moon dance for Dynamite MV, also Jimin was the one that suggested other MJ moves also for BTS song “Dynamite”.
Jimin already at early age of 10, started studying hip hop at the renowned Just Dance Academy, in Busan, city where Jimin’s from, which teaches all the many different styles of hip hop. There is even a post made that shows a performance where young again 11 Jimin in 2007, not only performed already, on right front side of stage, but later on went in front and did a solo. JIMIN also competed, excelling in popping, & isolation moves, winning every competition. JIMIN also since a little boy, trained 8 yrs in various forms of martial arts: Taekwondo (blackbelt), Hapkido, Kendo, & Chinese martial arts. This was aside from still attending middle school Jimin, where he was already into all kinds of sports, including being part of soccer team,, but also basketball, even joined after school billiards, also excelling in track & field throughout his schooling.
Then, while going to Busan Highschool of the Arts, he then also studied & performed contemporary. Media even called Jimin “The rising star of Busan” after seeing Jimin perform on stage during a huge festival. JIMIN also studied, some ballet as well as even traditional Korean dance. But Jimin’s main love was always hip hop. Though he did enjoy dancing contemporary, which Jimin indeed excels at, to this day all his dance movements, have his exquisite body placement, amazing elegant, poised, clean lines, as well as he also always stands, even without dancing, with out-turned feet, his foot positions always end up while dancing in classical out turned foot position, placement that classically trained dancers have. Jimin found he could express himself even more through contemporary dance. Very few dancers have the ability to dance as many styles of dance as well as have the ability to incorporate all of them, even his gravity defying, martial arts, moves in his dance.
There’s a reason Jimin was not only give the official title of Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist, but has been awarded the prestigious titles for 4 yrs in a row for Best Dancer of Kpop, as well as King of Kpop. Jimin is called Stage Commander for a reason, his stage presence is on another level. Jimin is also called “Rookies Bible” because all rookies look up to him, watching his performances over & over, trying to emulate, & learn from his unmatchable, flawless, precise moves. So many trainees & rookies choose his songs to try to copy when competing, though even without singing, but just focusing on dance, always still fail to even come close.

Tbh the choreography for the intro of this song has to be one of the best if not the best intro for a song in history. He and the backup dancers' power and charisma go through the roof. Also IMO it's the best intro performance I've seen for a soloist from Korea and I've seen the majority of the most popular soloists performances. Jimin is indeed a beast on stage and no doubt will bring more of it in the future.

Jimin’s dance style is so unique to him, but also just so beautiful. He’s got all the isolations and sharper movements from his hip-hop/popping days, then the smooth and elegant flow from contemporary dance, and the power from his martial arts training. Not to mention the tumbling (flips/stunts), flexibility, and precision in each movement.

Jimin’s the most unique hardworking performer. He takes the steps so easily. He so fluid like the ocean waves. His high notes and creativity in his MVs too is amazing. Its my fave song too from his FACE album. His new OST for Fast X will be released on May 18th please watch out for it. Theres a preview of it under Fast & Furious and NLE Choppa channels. Its called “Angel Pt1” together with JVke, Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, and Muni Long.

When I 1st discovered BTS on TH-cam in fall of 2015 it was through watching their dance practices and I loved them. These guys are over the top talented. And by the way, I’m was of the older ARMY at 71 years old. Really am enjoying your reaction videos - thank you for reacting to BTS.

their producer Pdogg that's been with them (BTS) for over 10 years also worked together with Jimin on this song. And before the release Pdogg printed out signs that said "JIMIN IS COMING TO END K-POP" and hung them in the company hallways. So yes, 1000% this should be your favourite song out of Korea.

Jimin is sometimes the first member that is noticed when watching Bangtan. They are all so amazing. And you are right he is classically trained in modern contemporary dance and he is a highly trained martial artist and kendo swordsman. You picked up the anthemic vibe of Set Me Free Pt2 right away. His solo album FACE is great. Check it out. You are literally at the tip of the iceberg. Bangtan is known for being one of the best high quality performance groups out there. They are the BEST imo and they paved the way for other to really big in the way of performance. Enjoy the rabbit hole!

Don't expect to hear another track like Set Me Free pt2. BTS, as a group or solo, NEVER make the same song twice. I don't actually know how they do it but they work 24/7 for us ARMY to bring us the most amazing music and content.
As a taster you should watch 'BTS best dance breaks'. You will see tracks covering 10 years and will see what great dancers they all are.💜
