When Ukraine crossed the border into Russia last August, they did not mistreat the ordinary people. They occupied several hundred kilometers of Russian territory, but they adhered to the rules of war, and did not disgrace themselves by committing abuse. In other words, they didn't emulate what happened on 10/7, when certain other people also crossed a border, specifically to "engage with" ordinary people.
I really wish people like this girl would choose more wisely when deciding who to support.
For what it's worth, I feel the reaction to 10/7 was equally insane. Insanity is the defining characteristic of that conflict. When both sides are mad, there are no good guys. Slava Ukraini.
Russian and Ukranian soldiers wear uniforms, don't hide in tunnels, do not take civilian hostages, and themselves are adhering to the principles of combat.
Equally insane??? Really? A false equivalence between Hamas and the State of israel can only be made by deniers of what happened on oct 7th. There's no comparison. You aren't virtue signalling here. 😂
@@lisahere859 Correct, I'm not virtue signaling. I'm saying what I actually believe. This is kind of nice though. Usually it's _supporters of Hamas_ calling me out. Change of pace.
My baseline belief is that ordinary people should not be involved in military "things" (I'm using my words carefully so this comment isn't instantly deleted.) For me, this has to be unconditional, which is why I highlighted the conduct of the AFU in Kursk as an ideal example.
Given that the leadership in Gaza had purposely failed to evacuate the city, clearly using their people "as shields", this obviously created a terrible dilemma for the IDF. I'm glad I didn't have to make those decisions.
I honestly don't know what the solution was. But going in hot, with no regard for anyone, resulted in "stats that were far too high" in my opinion, by my personal standards.
So yeah, when neither side respects the rules of war and disregards protections for ordinary people, I call that insane. That's what's happening over there. It's been happening since I can remember. Unfortunately.
As a Jewish man I am quite disturbed as to the rise of anti-Semitism in the past year and a half. And even more disturbed as to the lack of outrage out there about this. And I have serious doubts as to anything happening to curb this trend, particularly in the blue states and on the far left college campuses out there.
Same.. agreed. Where we part ways is on your unwavering support for an unnamed politician. But on this? Yeah we are on the same page
Agreed. Internationally, antisemitism is on the rise.
Everyone was against antisemitic behavior until Donald Trump Saud he supported Israel, because then Everyone who is Democrat has to take the opposite stance because reasons. They called Everyone who said anything antisemitic a nazi up until Trump said he supported Israel, then it was ok to hate jews and support terrorists, because it was against what Trump said.
