I was just a little kid when I first played the game. This is a very beautiful nostalgia for me. Musics of this game was wonderful for a good summer vibe. I still listen most of them today! Thanks for the restrospective ❤
I have finally finished this game after first discovering it when I was a kid. While the sandbox mode is chill, the campaign is not. You have tight deadlines forcing you to optimize and milk your builders as much as possible on the first day. Missions are short so you are encouraged to experiment with different build orders to achieve the goal. This is more similar to an RTS in this aspect. I was actually pleased with this take on the genre but you have to know what you're in for. Some parts lack depth, probably because it was rushed out of development. Security is useless outside of that one mission. Beers are a good idea but the execution did not deliver. You will really only use the ones that make people happy or horny.
The missions weren't easy that's for sure. I was the same, i finished the game for this review and never finished it as a kid. It amazes me that no developer has tried to make a similar game..

Loved this game so much, it's abandonware now so you can get it for free, just need to do a little bit of hackerman stuff due to teh game's age and you're good to go.
Ah yeah, no game brought with it the feeling of summer holidays and novel tropical experiences just like Beach Life. I remember being just a kid and playing this game just before embarking on a trip to Croatia with my parents and friends during my summer break. Amazing vibe.

i found the US version from Chinese website.. they mod the game to translate texts into Chinsese...got schooldays memory with this game.. @@GameTalesHQ

I don't think you can expand the play area, not being able to build everything is part of the puzzle! There's one sandbox map where i got almost everything down though.
If you want a good vibes, chill management game, this is the one!
