      This insight at the end about volume of training going down which corresponds with your performance was a very good point and I will definitely use this tip. This Ohan Dai in the medal bout was lit, definitely your best performance of the weekend. Could you do some video about your training routine maybe? Like how does your strength or plyometric training look like :)

      One of the biggest takeaways for me is the value of celebrating all your victories not just the gold medals. Competing as a kid I was always told that I wasn’t good enough if I didn’t win gold. But now I’ve come to realize that gold isn’t everything. If you feel you did good and improved because of that experience that’s what matters. Any medal is just the icing on the cake.

    Amazing! Congratulations! What impacted me from this video is not worrying about your opponent in each round but only worrying about the obstacles with each kata and feeling proud of yourself after. That is something that will definitely help me. I’ll use it at nationals 😃

      I love this !!! Yes, at the end of the day we cannot control our opponent or the referee. So other than finding satisfaction in winning we must find happiness in doing the katas the way we want and overcoming all the challenges each kata presents. This way, win or lose, we personally win !!

Your vlogs are amazing! Just a small request when you have a break. Could you please do a review for most of your competition Karate Gi's. It would be interesting to see the differences between the HIROTAs, SHUREIDOs and TOKAIDOs. Thank you! ALL THE BEST ARIEL! 🙏🏻💪🏻

    I have a question. What’s the best way to balance school, a job, and training? I used to compete on the National (USA) level as a kid and got invited to join Team USA to compete as a Junior in the PanAm Games (I couldn’t go because of family issues). I now want to get back into the game, maybe not on the same level but I want to improve and continue to test my skills at competition. The only issue is that I’m a grad student with an assistantship, 2 part time jobs, and I need to train while maintaining my mental and physical health. Any tips for an amateur competitor? Btw say high to John Klatt and his daughter Hannah. I used to train with John in WI and teach Hannah. John competes Para Karate for Team USA and I think is going to the PanAm games with y’all. Oss 🥋

    • @arielkarate1
      @arielkarate1  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello, thank you for your comment. My recommendation for balancing everything is always time management. To improve in karate the trick isn’t to train several hours but to consistently push yourself daily. 1 hour of intense kata training will help you keep moving towards your best. Now the hard part is finding that hour. If we manage our time well I’m sure you can do it. And I’ll send them your regards. Oss
