At first I was like why? But then of course you can’t make babies in CAS so the developers had to find some way to make unique children without having a set number of possible babies to adopt.
@@taliahass1234 Babies don't really have features. They have a generic face and genes that will only start to express once they turn to a toddler. I guess they had a hard time finding a way to randomize genes without causing corruption, so this was probably the best thing to do.

I only knew about first-born syndrome about a year ago, and now this. I had no idea about this. I always figured the only advantage to adopting a baby was to be able to name it. The whole mixing two random townies thing does make sense though since you cannot make a baby in CAS like toddlers or children, so they must be produced genetically, rather than randomly.

If people don’t believe in the firstborn syndrome or the genetics mechanics of the Sims 2 then they clearly didn’t play the game, or at least not enough lol 😂
Sometimes my firstborn child was different, but the 2nd and 3rd were identical. Does that count too? :-) Generally the genetics are quite predictable in my game, with the face of 1 parent and hair and skin color of the other parent or the other way around, whereas you can create more random combinations with a child of 2 CAS Sims.
If you really want to test it, you could create a neighborhood with no townies, then add new townies with very customized faces and see if the kid looks like any pair of them (the less townies you add, the easier it will be to discover their parents). You could also add just a bunch of identical townies and see if every kid would look the same.
I've always "made" my own children for adoption by creating beautiful parents, let them have a lot babys and when killing the parents. Next families adopted the babys of the dead, beautiful parents then :)

I love the idea of having my families adopt children, but, in my gameplay I use a couple of mods, one to make it happen the same day I call the agency, the other is to be able to adopt teenagers too, in the real world a teenager (a minor, because in my opinion in the sims 2 [having all the eps], we can consider them as if they were 15-16 years old), can easily be adopted... so I decided to make them adoptable with the mods. Super glad i found your channel! I played sims 2 a lot growing up and recently ive developed a hyperfixation on it :)) also, when you say random townies, can that include sims living in the neighbourhood made in CAS or is it just npcs?
Cool! Only NPCs, but not the ones living in apartments, the mailman or Sims working on community lots. Just simple townies such as Brandi LeTourneau or Kennedy Cox (or whoever gets generated).
First Guy kinda looks like Chandler Greaves From Takemizu Village, but different eyes and Skin-tone? Also if it’s including all Townies, the ones from Bluewater, Downtown and Universities all get randomized names.
I have avoided adoption is beacuse it's just takes a template. And for someone who hand crafts my own townies I wouldn't want a playable to just have a face template. Now if this works and it does mix tow, not just two templates townies this could be a game changer.

Adopting babies, specifically.
10:39 - 10:42 xD
I had no idea about this but I think I might adopt some babies in my game soon! Thank you for sharing and showing (with) us. I am very interested in videos like this tho. Anything I can learn about the game is fine for me.
this is VERY interesting. i had no idea. i always get very interesting sims from adoption. i once got a sim who looked like Ross Geller from FRIENDS
Marticore: knows appearances of many townies in the game, can recognise many face templates and their facial features
Me: can't tell if a child is more similar to their mother or father (is that normal? xD)
Yes, that's normal
I read the title as „baby *abortion* is magical”
4:20 Are you talking about Elm Roth?
Yes!
Okay but Dante's probably the most handsome sim i've ever seen.
6:59 I almost thought I was watching The Jeremy Kyle Show 😂
Yeah, i really appreciate your effort on video's you make, you grow girl
🤗
Please do a Genetics Trivia video! I had NO idea how in depth Sims 2 was with this sorta thing!
Where did you download the bodysuit for the baby? I am so tired of the diaper look

Marticore thank you! 🌟
9:57 looks like my mum when she was a teen (beside the lips and hair and eye colour)🤣
Love your videos! Interesting stuff
Imagine if we could have babies like that in TS4... dreams... an absolute dream..
Don't worry, they will avoid anything that would bring forth actual good gameplay in TS4.
8:54 why does he reminds me of Peeta ?
7:50 agreed, he's handsome in an unconventional way
Love you, girl ❤️
'Edward', the female, reminds me a lot of Susie Broke from Riverview.
Manticore, what is that beauty on 9:47?? Where did you get that hair? Is this a default replacement?
Not a replacement! I think I found it on The Sims 2 Maxis Match tumblr.
@@Marticore ok, i guess now I'm gonna go on a cc shopping spree
LOVE LOVE this videos of the mecanics of the sims 2 ❤️❤️ need more xd
Sims look less realistic now then they did then 🤦🏽♂️
If you get your children taken away by social services you can adopt them into another household. It happened to me once
So i need to create the whole townies so that i dont get ugly baby. Nice idea
Love your vídeos
Super glad i found your channel! I played sims 2 a lot growing up and recently ive developed a hyperfixation on it :)) also, when you say random townies, can that include sims living in the neighbourhood made in CAS or is it just npcs?
Cool!
Only NPCs, but not the ones living in apartments, the mailman or Sims working on community lots. Just simple townies such as Brandi LeTourneau or Kennedy Cox (or whoever gets generated).
Please please yes!! Trivia, plastic surgery and so on video! I would love that! Also, love your content! 😍
First Guy kinda looks like Chandler Greaves From Takemizu Village, but different eyes and Skin-tone?
Also if it’s including all Townies, the ones from Bluewater, Downtown and Universities all get randomized names.
As a kid I'd almost always adopt over having biological kids and somehow never noticed this.
I have avoided adoption is beacuse it's just takes a template. And for someone who hand crafts my own townies I wouldn't want a playable to just have a face template. Now if this works and it does mix tow, not just two templates townies this could be a game changer.
Александар-М Јанкоски same thing for me, now im thinking of testing this out
edward (f) really said simgm's caitlyn jenner babe
I noticed that if you get kids taken away and then adopt you get them for the next adoption xo
damn I didn't think the game can do that
Edward is a pretty adult looking toddler...
I couldn’t agree with u more.
