We drove through this park yesterday (9/17/23). Since your review the roads have been paved throughout the park & camping loop, eliminating the dust issue. Vegetation has grown considerably, giving even more privacy for the sites. We have booked a stay here in December & are looking to staying.

I’ve been there this past spring at it is just beautiful now. I think site 30 is the nicest most private campsite. Enjoy!

Thank you John for your review. We always appreciate your TH-cam content. I’m guessing you’ll be doing an updated version soon. Sorry we didn’t get a chance to say hi. Safe travel’s.

I was just there and the campground turns five years old this month. Most things are still in good shape. The interior of the bathhouse could use some painting at this point and some of the campsites could use a refresh. Otherwise, it is still one of my favorite campgrounds - just exceptionally quiet. All the best!

We’ve stayed here 3 times - it’s one of our favorite parks!

Our family spent a portion Christmas week at Creek Creek S.P. and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Temperatures got up in the 80’s while we were there! We had a pull-through site, which made it nice for access and parking. Went hiking, bicycling with a folding bike, fishing at Mac Lake (large lake half mile north of the campground). The access road has not been paved yet. Next time will bring or rent a kayak!

Thomas, thanks for the comments. Colt Creek is a very nice secluded park. I love the size of the sites. All the best in your travels and thanks for watching!

Nice video as always John. I'll really have to put this campground on my to-do list as I head south in the next few weeks!

Thanks MN. Good to hear from you again. Colt Creek is very nice and away from the central Florida bustle. Great if you want to get away a bit. All the best in your travels to a warmer climate!

2 phases, one is happen this year to finish paving all the to the camp site a tad beyond, phase 2 is to go all the way back including widening the road 24 feet.

Thanks John, I'll have to remember that State Park. Good to see you again. Keep up the good work. Does the park allow generators?

Hey Richard, good to hear from you. I loved this place, it's now my favorite FL state park. As far as generators, I'm not sure. You could make a quick call to the ranger station and ask: (863) 815-6761

I have a 15 foot Jon Boat. Can I launch it at the boat ramp and keep my trailer at the camp site?

John, not being a boat owner, I am not sure the answer. I would call the park and ask: 863-815-6761

Looks like a great place to get away! I have a black lab that will be with me and I'm guessing the don't allow dogs? Thank you for your review. I really enjoy hearing about camp grounds.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT (January 24, 2019): The campground at Colt Creek State Park will be closed from February 11th through February 28th due to a road paving project at the park. People who made reservations up to 11 months ago are now being informed that their reservations have been canceled and refunded. This has created a very unfortunate situation for those who already have winter camping plans in place and are now left without a campsite. Please pass this information along to anyone you may know that has reservations in place in case they have not seen the cancelation email notice. Thanks!

Getting away from cell service is a plus depends how you want to see it. Also dirt roads is more like camping worrying about dirt on my car truck is part of the experience of deprogramninh away from society. That's why we camp. These things you are pointing out as a lower rating on this or any part I see as plus signs. All perception ♡

Good point. It really depends on how you camp. Thanks!
