    Hi, Clive. Thanks so much for recommending and sharing this recipe.
    I copied down the recipe and then proceeded to butcher it using ingredients I had on hand.
    Gladfield Ale Malt
    Joe White Maltings Dark Crystal
    Carafa 2
    Baird’s Black Malt in place of roasted barley
    Gladfield Brown Malt
    Northern Brewer in place of Challenger
    At least I did use S-04, and I took care to get water pH and salts in the zone.
    What a fantastic drop! I brewed it to 4.5% ABV. It’s not going to last very long. I put 9 litres into a keg and bottled the rest. I’m glad I bottled some as at least there’s a chance I’ll share some.
    I thought I had a very solid Porter recipe already but I believe this is a step up. Thanks again.
