Mack LR Heil 5000 on Manual Yard Waste

- Up until recently Bay View Refuse serviced Kensington a Census-designated place in Contra Costa County with quite the unique service in todays modern terms. As many city's and towns especially in California have already transitioned to carted automated or semi-auto collection for many decades, only recently due to a Senate Bill did a wonderful and efficient system meet its end. As in this video of the unlimited yard waste collection you will see very generous set outs of customer provided bins and just like my recent video of Bay Cities Refuse, the same company just servicing Sausalito, the Recycling would be picked up curbside though with non company cans and trash had the option for on-premise collection. Late January of 22' EVR-2's of all many size options made there way to each account for all three systems and will be collected curbside with the same trucks as before. Definitely saving the backs of the guys darting up stairs with a big pack can to collect trash at it seemed every other resident on some streets. I would like to make my way back now that the new system is in place to see how yard waste is being dealt with just being carted. Hope you enjoy this weird truck combo for California at least and a big thank you to the driver and helper for letting Colby and myself film for as long as we did. Colby does have a video of trash/recycle being collected here taken many years ago that I hope he uploads so you can see that but as I said, look on my channel and you can see how the on-premise/ backyard collection is done if your not familiar and are interested.

always nice to see this company in action. pretty wild that there was a full on manual route especially in the bay area, about as old school as it gets! really digging the combo too. great video!

Cool video! Really like the look of this combo, especially in their colors. These guys worked at a solid pace and it seems like they take great care of their customers. I’m curious as to why they emptied all the paper bags and didn’t just toss them in since they’re biodegradable, unless the site they take this load to doesn’t accept it. Nice catch!
Thank you. I don't have an answer for the bags. I figure the facility doesn't accept them but 2 weeks after filming this organics are now mixed in so they must now.
@@NorCalwastetrucks I guess it could be to save room to. When I did yard waste I found that those bags don't compact well at all. My truck could hold 30 tons without bags, only 18-22 tons with bags.

Odd how they dumped those paper bags. They can be composted with the yard waste. I think the chucker has a bit of OCD. I worked with a guy who put every bin back perfectly before.
Customers want the paper bag's back so we can't toss em why make are job easier 🤣
