Love this guy. He gave a two hour question and answer talk at Cornell, where he is an associate professor, and was wonderfully witty and generous with his time and hilarious remarks.

I was at that show in Thousand Oaks CA the day after the election and he is 100% correct. The audience was numbed by the events of the previous day and we were desperate for a good laugh...and John and Eric provided it perfectly. Nobody I would have loved to spend the opening days of the apocalypse with more than those two.

John Cleese isn't the best person to be delivering this stuff though. Anyone could say the same thing and be assured of approval. It's decades since Cleese was cutting edge or even relevant, and since he achieved the status of 'national treasure' all those years ago I'd say he's been dining out on it ever since. He's far from hilarious here, and O'Leary and Spiteri's hysterics are overdone. It's as though they're just indulging an eccentric old uncle by pretending to find him side-splittingly funny.

We watched one nite then to xmas eve service at the inlaws church. Minister read that scripture where the 3 wisemen bring gifts. When the minister said myrrh, my husband whispered the word to me but in the voice used in the movie. Myyrrhh . We both began to laugh inwardly til the entire pew was shaking. His mother told us to go to the car. Omg we were in our forties. I watch that great movie every xmas eve and skip church. Then its easier to always look on the bright side of life.
