Thank you for this video, I might be doing this on a 2005 G35. You are very knowledgeable, and more importantly you are very easy to listen to, very professional and reassuring. I think I can do this. Thanks again!
Thank you. This video is very nice and clear.Could you please make a tutorial how to replace the Timing Chain and serpentin belt in a ford 2009 petrol/ gas,1.8l, 4 cyl,125ps
Great video! I have a cam phaser that's f'd on my 3.5L Altima, motor is transverse, not longitudinal, like this. Dreading doing the job, so much shit to pull apart that book says pull the motor instead, fml. When you actually get to it, it isn't super hard (if you know engines), but man, intimidating af just how much it takes to get to the timing components.
I’m super late but it’s honestly not that difficult if you haven’t done it already. Every part has indication marks on them, just make sure they’re all aligned.
I learned the hard way myself.. but always buy" brand new oem" when doing timing chain tensioner, chain guides, and chains ...not fun having to redo the work with used parts...taking a chance of them being faulty.
I’m having trouble getting the front timing cover back on after doing a timing job. Did you drop the upper oil pan or how do you do it? The dowel pins aren’t lining up for me
Problem was the new oil pan seal (half moon) wasn’t allowing the cover to move down enough for the dowels to slide into their slots. I tightened the two 12mm bolts inside the pan and it pulled the cover down enough to get all the other bolts in👍
@@JLowe thank you, really appreciate it! How long of a process would you say it is? Think I can get it done in a weekend? I’ve swapped a few motors in Hondas and pretty mechanically inclined but never done this project yet
You can definitely do it in a weekend if everything goes according to plan and you have everything you need. Being mechanically inclined you know that there is a chance something can go wrong. On a difficultly level I’ll put it at 7/10 only because you have to be precise such as having the engine TDC and making sure the cam gears are in the right position. I got faith it you!
I wouldn’t ever buy a used tensioner becuase the moment u pull the pin on the tensioner it will never be the same again so a brand new one is the way to go fs
At the time of the recording I didn’t have the funds and was in a rush to do the installation. I have since learned from my mistakes 🤣🤝🏽. I’m going to redo it soon!

You can do it, I got faith in you. Just take your time and patience is key. Let me know if you have any questions!

If I happen to come across one. I got you!
@@JLowe thankyou 👍

I definitely learned that the hard way. 🥲

Don’t fight it because the aluminum is very fragile. I was able to do it with only the lower oil pan removed. Which dowels are you referring to?
@@JLowe the dowel pins that are pressed into the front timing cover. I went ahead and removed them and was able to get it on. Thanks

@samuelmanzanarez96 I was thinking that is how it would have to be done to get the bottom to seal properly. Thanks for sharing!
Did you ever figure out the rattle?
It was from the secondary timing chain on bank 2 due to the tensioner not working properly.
@@JLowe Thanks man. Bout to tackle this adventure on my 350z. Not looking forward to it lol.
@@iSSJZ33 you got it! Patience is key, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
