Had mine 3 weeks, run it in over the first weekend in the Welsh mountains. So far I would say it’s up there as the best all round bike I’ve owned... and I’ve owned a few 😄. I went with the KTM luggage, bags, etc they are perfectly shaped and fitted for the bike

I currently own a 2017 SDR V2 model which has been a great machine, yet with all the +ve press about the V3 machine, I am considering upgrading to the new model, depending on what I learn from guys like yourself who have also owned the GT model as well and have taken the plunge. Nice editing 👍🏻 I looked at the SDR for my next bike as it gets great reviews from anyone who rides it but I just can't get past how it looks! Petty I know, and you can't see it when you're riding but you've got to love all aspects of what ever bike you ride. Ended up putting my money down on a black 2020 Ducati Monster 1200S. Got to wait a couple more weeks before it arrives but looking forward to that. Keep the videos coming, always enjoy what you put up on youtube 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I didn't find the new GT as dialed in as the new R, still great mind. The 2021 GT will be worth a look, as itll be getting all the R's goodies.
TheLikeableRider Oh I thought the GT had more on it than the R semi active suspension for instance tft screen , the mapping is different so what will the new 21 GT have on it ?

This new is is slightly quieter than the previous gen Duke R and GT, and the banging and crashing has gone when off the throttle. Still sounds good though!
Beautiful and amazing machine but I'll take the 790! All the naked you'll ever need without the grim reaper constantly riding pillion with you.
There is 0 reason to buy the superduke over a GT if you don't wheelie it. This is a VERY popular bike and with reason, it is a beast. Unfortunately waaaay to many people buy it. This bike is made for 1 purpose, front wheel up, full throttle. Too many people drive it like a normal bike, it's not made for that and it makes that clear in every gear, it wants to go up.

Hi Shaun, congrats for your style. Very few can afford to make long content like yours enjoyable from A to Z. I am keen to know how does the Tuono factory (19 onwards) compare with the SDR 2020 in your opinion, particularly for a casual use mostly up in the mountains with occasional truck days. I am a happy 2017 GT owner but looking for something sportier/lighter. Thanks again for sharing your experiences.
Not been on the Tuono as yet! I know the older bikes were a pig to life with unless you were wringing its neck. Be interested myself if the fueling on the newer bikes is better. I can tell you that the fueling on the SDR is amazing!
Whenever I watch videos on the newer SDs, I get FOMO. Then I go back to my SD 990 and I am ok again. Some day I will get a 1290. Some day...

I would be hard to not like you. I have a 2020 gt and an 2020r and a 2015r with rottweiler stage 5. They can be painful to ride hard especially for an 65 year old man like Me. These bikes are so much fun that it has caused me to get back in shape because it takes alot of strength to hang on.
Nice bike mate and howdy from Australia. I've had my orange one for 2 months now and love it. What fly screen is that, does not look like the KTM one. Have been waiting 8 weeks now for my Austin Racing slipon, hopefully not to much longer.

Its surprisingly good! I'm 6ft2 and get no buffeting on my helmet. Seems the headlight does a great job throwing the wind up and over.

I don't connect anything to the bike bluetooth wise, all my music and general entertainment works over my Garmin, phone and Cardo headset. Think I would only have issues if I'd also include the bike. No issues with C1 and C2! Thanks for the comment and sub to the channel👍😜

It may be a UK southern softie (and in the dictionary) thing, or the fact that you've lived in Germany for 20 years, but "squit" means diarrhoea. I think you mean a "squirt" of the throttle, unless of course opening the throttle gives you the squits! 😂

R5 are a sports touring tyre, great grip and last a long time. The 22's won't last half as long, but seem to be sticky. I'm not sure if I'll put a sports touring tyre on this bike, see what happens.
I’m jealous! I would like this bike, but have to settle for the 2019 SMCR for now. I bet the insurance is sky high difference from 693 cc to 1301cc?
Yeah the Super Duke is at the higher end for insurance.
Big time here in Canada. In fact if i would got the GT my insurance would been half price.
The GT's insurance is no different to the R here in Germany🤷♂️

Not sure off the top of my head, I'm not home at the moment. There's a few Apps you can download which will recognize the music just by playing a segment of it into the App.
Just found your channel this morning and loving it, getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2020 SDR and plan to add bags ect for some touring and was looking at the mo tech bags system. Have you had any experience with the add on tail shelf for mounting tail bag behind rear seat?

I've got that same pannier system coming for the SDR, should be sent out to me on the 21st! I've had the rear racks on my SDGT and my S1000XR, and they were great. I'm probably not going to add one to the SDR as I've just spent a lot on tidying up the back end, and now don't want to add to it. Tbh with two panniers, a rearbag on the pillion seat, and a good sized Tankbag, that'll be fine to tour with. Do check out the SWMOTECH tailbag, and their all new Pro Tankbag range, it's great gear.

How does the mo tech bags compare to the ktm semi ridged bags?
I think you'll find that they're the same bag, only the Urban ABS bags are more rigid. I've noticed it on a few others of the KTM luggage, some of them are exactly the same bag as what Swmotech sell, just with the KTM design.

Wind is surprisingly good, I think the headlight deflects a lot, but if you're worried about that, then youd be better off with the GT.
Is the warranty better on them now? Before electronics, etc weren't covered. Only engine, frame & swingarm here in the U.S.

Think pretty much everything is covered apart from wear and tear items, chain sprockets etc.

Have mine for 2 weeks, unfortunately been raining got about 100 kilometers. Does that dash cover work for wind deflection?
Haven't noticed any difference with the das cover on, but I don't find the wind a problem at all tbh.

270-280km is a realistic fuel range. All my luggage is from SWMOTECH and they have many options for this bike! Its surprising good without a screen, 160kph on the German Autobahn wasn't an issue.

No they are from Highsider, which could even be the same brand that KTM has stamped its brand on, automatically making them more expensive✌😂
Sean are you getting much wind buffeting on you helmet or is it a clean even air flow would it be possible to fit hand guards with the bar end mirror's 🤔🤔 I'm afraid to take a test drive on one 😣😫 because I'll be saying how much will you give me for the GT one careful owner 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
👍😂 no buffering at all for me on this bike, I'm 6ft2 but of course it may be different for others. Yes hand guards are available, but I'd have to change my mirrors. Mine fit inside the handlebars, but you can get the exact same ones that fit over the top of the bars, which allows you to fit hand guards or lever guards.

Are ALL you buttons illuminated? On mine they are not, only a few 😅 I love mine, the only thing I dont really like is the indicator button 😅 Keep the good content coming mate 😀

@@thelikeablerider8800 On mine its only the return, ignition and hazard switch that is illuminated, if I remember correct, and its a bit weird that they would go true the trouble to just illuminate some of them 🤔
Strange one that, I'll keep that I mind to check. Agreed! Cant be much more work or cost to illuminate them all!
My gen 3 has illuminated switchgear on both sides 👍 also you can change the brightness of them in the menu 👍
Have seen the options in the menu, but haven't been able to see them lit up as yet, but I'll take your word for it✌😜

Your TFT appears to be in night mode throughout this video. Is that little fly screen covering the TFT daylight sensor or is there an issue within the TFT itself?

No I've intentionally set it to stay in night mode, I find the daytime white a bit bright and distracting. Plus orange looks way cooler😜

RAM ball joints, you'll find them all over Amazon and Ebay✌😜
You'll need a left threaded bolt though, had to order them extra
I was debating on this or the GT. What do you like more? Also, how tall are you? I've been worried that's the 2020 Super Duke R's bars are too low and it would be uncomfortable. Is that the case for you?
You definitely are slightly more over the front, but it's not uncomfortable. I'm 6ft2!
I can only say what works for me, you'd need to ride them and decide for yourself.

No that's the night screen! The day time screen is white which isn't so cool😜 so I've changed it so it always stays with the night screen.

I love your videos, but to be fair, you are comparing a 2020 R with a 2016 GT. I'm sure most of your pain points with your GT would have been fixed with a 2020 GT as well.
Obviously I'm a big fan of the (new) GT, so I'm probably also slightly biased.
But as said, I love your videos - keep them coming :-)
Of course I'm going to compare it to the GT that I owned, but the R is still worlds apart from the 2020 GT. Be interesting to see the 2021 GT in action, because that will be built from the 2020 R.
How about refinements
How is it in traffic does it get hot? And is it a pain to filter with the bike I own a Hyper 821 and want to swap to this bike but I still can't decide cause I want to know if it's decent in traffic ♥️
No worries in traffic as it's pretty small I find. It does still chuck a bit of heat out, but not half as bad as the GT.

My mate built a mint vintage cb900 custom cafe racer, only has to have one mirror for the Tüv, he went with underslung because it looks the tits...only thing one can see is great views of the clouds above it's that un-useable 🤣 good to see you went with function over form.
Looking the tits is important, but underslung is pretty wanky when it comes to functionality

The new SDR is definitely a little bit quieter than the previous gens, but still has the vtwin rumble.
