As the Maids said at Yokohama, beginning 2024, it's "Chapter Two" for Band-Maid. What does that mean -- a new direction in music on their upcoming summer album... new battle gear... different stage show or venues... more collabs (The Warning, Lovebites, individual musician appearances?)... member and band projects like scoring movies, aniMaids, soloing projects like Cluppo... someone getting married or 👶🐣?? I actually disagree… Both Saiki and Miku’s English isn’t that good, I can’t follow half of TDC’s lyrics without subtitles. I prefer they write and sing what they are comfortable to - they have enough loyal fans that they don’t need to change themselves to go “big”.
Along with Nemophila, Band-Maid are primed for an incredible year. Throw in Lovebites and Babymetal and a few others, it will be a break-out year for Japanese bands.
Band Maid are only Japanese group to grab me(Hard rock fan here).Babymetal are just weird,I didnt feel Lovebites but respect them and havent listened to Nemophila,I shall give these a go on your recommendation
Have not managed to get into any of the other bands mentioned. Rolling Quartz (Korean, not Japanese) gives me the same vibes as Band-Maid but they are much newer and still finding their sound - and they are a bit overproduced (like most K-pop).
I've checked out a bunch of the other Japanese bands and Band-Maid and Lovebites are the only ones that do it for me, actually they are 2 of my 3 favorite modern bands.
Unpopular opinion. It's gotta be her worst vocal performance in recent years. Yokohama Arena version was way better. I know this song is a vocally challenging song for her, so it's understandable. Usually she either jumps from low register to high, or stay in mid. This song is a vocal roller coaster. But I love this song. Her lyrics in this song is very emotionally raw. The Brightest Star in the lyrics is probably world domination. The lyrics show her self-doubt, insecurity and vulnerability and desire.

This song is pretty cool, I bet if they did an English version it would be big. They should do that with some songs like The Dragon Cries.

First time for me to see a red バンドメイド logo on AKANE’s drum. Maybe it special for China?
It’s red with a white center, for HK’s flag. Same colour motif on the exclusive merch.

It took me a couple listens to realize that (unless I missed it which is quite possible) aside from "Brightest Star" I heard no English.
Check out the estimated lyrics on Reddit, there might be a few more short English phrases.
