Bought mine a year ago , after a riding career of over 60 years (now 77 } on Bmw GS needed something alot lighter and this has proved to be a great little bike, just right for me . Low centre of gravity means its easy to handle at slow speeds, and the lowish seat is a great help. Did Corsica/Sardinia last year , (from the UK ) no worries, Croatia this year and Greece next , dont expect any problems, after all its a Honda
Oh no, I am a 66 year old guy who has been riding a 125 PCX for the last 2 years and was sold on getting a CB500X but this video has me at a crossroads now and I think I might be turning right there where the sign says NC. Thank you 👍
They're both great bikes. I know people who have the 500x but the NC has it over that bike with the bigger engine and the practicality of the front storage area. I'm 100% happy with my NC.
Yes, absolute joy to ride, low cog. Its in the sweet spot of weight, torque, and and balance for both city and highway. Throw in storage and DCT and 67 mpg us, and its a keeper. Just mounted ''tourance next' tires, outstanding.
I am an NC 750X DCT owner and cannot recommend these machines highly enough. Obviously if getting your knee down and thrashing every other vehicle is your thing then it's probably not the bike for you. If, however, you want a good, steady, reliable, cheap to run (I get around 85mpg) fun, easy to ride, none threatening bike I cannot think of a better choice. I had a Varadero back in 2002 to commute on, but on motorways/freeways it was lacking in an ability to keep up with the traffic and as such was a danger. I remember thinking "if only it had a little more oomph"....then along comes the NC. The DCT polarises opinion, but if you are seriously considering one of these excellent machines then do test ride the DCT as well as the geared version.
Mate, you've pretty much hit the nail right on the head. The NC is the perfect bike for me after returning to riding after 25 years. I've now had it about 8 months and put 12,000 odd kms on it. I'm in the process of doing an updated review including all the bits and pieces I've added (which is an ever growing list). The bike is perfect, the road is not a racetrack :-) Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it and keep a look out for my latest review when it comes up. Cheers David.
I have owned my NC750X for about 3 years. I enjoy riding it everytime I get on it. Good on fuel, if you arent travelling in remote areas. Easy to ride and maneuver on dirt roads etc.
Nice video, returning rider here too and bought the NC after a lot of research. Suits my needs perfectly for commuting and touring. Slowly doing the mods (while renovating the house). Rear shock protector, 12 volt/USB point and hand guards are next then centre stand and panniers. I don't understand why these bikes aren't more popular here in Oz.
Thanks Placepics. I'll be adding hand guards and some luggage myself at some point. I also want a slip on pipe for it :-) I'll never understand why they're not more popular either. When I tell people what bike I have their instant response is usually... "what's that?". I love mine. :-)
'Nice job on the bike and this video. It's somewhat irritating that most of these modifications were not incorporated by Honda at the factory - especially fixing the slanted seat - after years of producing this model. Even the center stand should be standard on a bike like this. Again: nice job, and thanks!
Hey Robin... nice to hear from you. The further you ride it the more you'll love it! Are you on FaceBook? There's a group for NC750X riders... check it out and join if you like. facebook.com/groups/1814560972150056/ Be great to see some pics of the bike in South Africa :-) Anyway, thanks again and all the best. Rsm8.
Thank you for sharing, I have the same bike (2019 version) now it has 15,000 Km, since march this year. I tried to make several videos to let people know about the bike and also to find other NC750X riders and exchange opinions and feedbacks. Now, I am trying to make the bike more confortable and to cover some cons that were discovered such as: Crash Bar that protects the radiator, Skid plate, fenders, more confortable seat, better footpegs, additional lights, radiator protection, handguards and handlebar risers. Perhaps we keep in touch, greetings !
Always happy to keep in contact with a fellow NC rider!!! Sounds like you've got a bit on your list to do. I have a fair bit of that stuff so yeah, I think its worth doing. Where are you located?
Thanks a million. I'm an older sport bike rider and thinking this will be my next bike. Wanna fulfill a dream of riding across the US and seems like a bike that could handle it while providing more comfort...that I need. I would be looking for a DCT equipped model as well.
I've taken my NC on a few long trips now and it's really great on the open road. It'll sit on 110kms an hour all day long no problems. Some people complain about the seat being hard - fair call but doesn't bother me too much. After a sport bike this will be like riding an arm chair LOL :-) Good luck with it and ride safe.
I have a very similar model to this....even the same colour. Mine came with a fitted main stand and top box. The extra storage was also a big selling point for me. I agree with the comment about the tyres which do not inspire confidence. The other issues I have is the bike was too tall for me and the display screen has secondary digits which are too small to read easily. I overcame the height problem by fitting lowering struts to the rear suspension and dropping the fork yokes by 25mm. This made the bike far easier to climb on and off and a little easier to push about. The only downside of this being the beast is now very hard to get on the centre stand.
i guess Im randomly asking but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the account password. I would love any tips you can offer me
@Myles Ernesto Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Does the bike come with a pretty decent rock guard for the engine underneath? We’re you able to put the center stand on yourself? Also, does the bike come with its own tools to change the tires and stuff?
Hey David. The bike has no bash plate at all - it only has a plastic cowling stock and the sump is exposed. I put an SW-Motech Bash Plate on but had to modify it to fit with the honda genuine centre stand but not too much (I have a separate video on this). The bike comes with just very basic tools that consists of a couple of spanners and a double ended screw driver LOL. I've got my own tool kit on board in a tool tube mounted behind my pannier frames.
I'm interested in this bike too, but I've just been told that Honda are pulling them from the AU market, so the dealer were doubtful if they still could get a new one. Might have to resort to getting a 2nd hand one instead...
Hey mate. These bikes... like the cb500 range... are built to a certain price point. If Honda started adding more stuff the price would go up too much and destroy their affordable bike price point. Not everyone will want to add all this stuff so you can buy the bike almost bare bones for a reasonable price and then go nuts... or not.... bolting on all your bits. Cheers.
Factory tyres are poo and the cheap cable clutch along with cheap switch gear are a downer. Really wish the DCT would come to australia. It would make these an even better commuter
Agree with the tyres but the rest is fine. I do clutch cable maintence regularly as I've got bar risers and the cable is a little tight at the top but no issues. I'd never have a DCT LOL. I'll always be changing gears.

Good video, like you I haven't had a bike for years and the NC750X is the top of my list. Great bike.
You could do a lot worse. I love mine. Hope you get back on 2 wheels soon.

@@returnrider4952 Thanks for the answer. I live in Bucharest/Romania, it would be nice to keep in touch and exchange impressions, Greetings
Great to see another Aussie on a NC. Great informative video.
Ha thanks mate. Seeing your stuff was a massive help in deciding on my NC :-) Cheers David.

Grate video,If it's of any help I attached my extender fender on with clear silicon and no screws some years ago and have had no problems.

@Myles Ernesto it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D

Looking good. At some point get some Barkbusters hand guards 👍👍👍
Thanks mate. See this vid for an update including Barkbusters :-) th-cam.com/video/Hj_DCowO_Hk/w-d-xo.html
Good job with this video. Liked to Staylun accent for a change too!

Thats a shame if they are pulling them. It doesnt surprise me though as I think they dont sell too many. Its such an under rated bike.
Nice looking bike!
Is your 750X ABS with no DCT???
Yes, that's right. No DCT, manual.
That's my dream bike 😍
Could you please tell me about the power bank ? I'm interested in buying one
I cannot decide between one of these and the X-Adv.
I'm still loving my NC. Don't plan on parting with it any time soon.
1990 can’t get the x adv in the states but I love this bike
Thinking about getting this for my first bike.
You'll love it.
@@returnrider4952 Picked one up this afternoon! First ride with my pop and brother absolutely amazing! Thankyou and God Bless!
I have the 2015 DCT and I love it !!
Why don't Honda put the needed extra's on? That doesn't make sense.

So ugly but seems highly practical.,... I need a commuter & i think this might be the bike 👍🏾 Good review
This bike might be everything else but ugly...
