Ha, cool. There’s a lot to love about it, actually. James Gregory as General Ursus is probably favorite thing about it. His delivery is hilarious, like a slightly intoxicated John Wayne.
Did you notice the INTERIOR of the space ship us FAR BIGGER than the scale we see when the astronauts are outside the ship after the crash , there is NO WAY those interiors fit into that ship. Same thing happened on LOST IN SPACE
YES! That was kind of driving me nuts while I was editing this. I couldn't stop thinking about it. It's true in varying degrees for a lot of scifi ships (even the Millenium Falcon), but it's particularly glaring with this one, especially when you see it again in ESCAPE.
No mention of the Planet of the Apes television show or animated series? I've only seen a couple of episodes of each but that was decades ago, when I was a kid, so I have no idea if they are good.
I think Brendan did mention the TV show in the unedited version of this episode, but yeah I just wanted to focus on the original five films with this piece. I've never seen either, really, but Brendan told me the TV show is not very good. Can't speak for the cartoon, but what i've seen of it looks fun... I love all that old '70s Saturday morning animation.
I love Beneath. Maybe it’s nostalgia of the days when I named my toy gun ‘Nova’.
