Another interesting video; thanks chaps. Some really nice sailing conditions in this one. I love Adam's chart updates; particularly the jabbing middle finger to indicate the wind direction with the jabs getting more vicious the stronger the wind gets, or if the wind is in the wrong direction. Always makes me smile.
Thanks cousin Jack, funny you should mention the middle finger indicating the wind and tide, our mother was taking the mick out of me the other day when she came to visit, she was laughing her socks off 🤣🤣
I've got a feeling that tall ship off Eastbourne is SV Tenacious, of the jubilee sailing trust. They're an amazing charity who provide sail training for disabled crew, with special equipment like a speaking radar for the hard of hearing and a wheelchair ramp along the bowsprit. Well worth checking out!
The power station you were querying is Dungeness nuclear, currently being decommissioned and the 'Wish Tower' in Eastbourne is a Martello Tower, one of a string that was built along the S.E. coast to prevent invasion by the French in the Napoleonic wars! Great trip - 85 miles, not bad going.
Quote from a Thames Sailing Barge skipper……..if I were a yachtsman, which I aren’t I wouldn’t go to windward not never. If you lads have to tack, especially in the Solent, use the tides to negate the leeway. Capt JB
Nice vid Bros, I like the way you choose the not so popular places to stay from time to time. I’ve dropped my hook a few times in that “pool”, however, I didn’t catch sight of yer anchor ball, no doubt you were showing one, I hope so anyway. Kind Regards, Barnacle Bern SY Cadbri SW Wales 👍👍⚓️
Great episode. Lots of lovely sailing!! Good to see you actually sail and not jump strait for the engine as far to many sailors do. Sail boats are meant to sail!! 👍😁⛵
My Grandads Hurricane is somewhere off Hastings. First time out, the engine seized up and he used his chute. He was only in the sea for 10 minutes till a fishing boat picked him up but he said his balls were damn near frozen off.
Ah excellent Episode lads...Fantastic entertainment, it is like being on board with you both. Keep 'em coming. Any more details of the Atlantic Voyage??? :-)
Hello Con thanks very much for your lovely comments. The Atlantic voyage is still on we have nearly completed all the tasks we had to do, looking at weather windows for next week 😀
Ah jeez, ye will have to give us a Bonus Episode first of the travel plans and a rough idea of what is involved in planning such a passage...Have you made enquiries about US Visas. I believe the US has lifted some Covid restrictions on International Travel...Exciting times! Fair Winds
Nice video, and a good sail. Shame you didn't go into Bembridge as it is the jewel of the Solent, the most unspoilt of places with a great little marina. Have you considered getting a Rokk mounting for your tablet (not sponsored, we bought ours and definitely recommend)? We used one on our boat and it worked a treat, kept the tablet securely mounted and I could hang a lithium battery off of it as well to make sure I had enough juice for long passages. Keep up the great video's, you are now coming into our sailing area - all the way to Plymouth. I'm looking forward to the Bristol Channel return as we are now in Cardiff - Fair winds
Did that exact passage in June this year from Tollesbury … singlehanded, easterly winds, stopped in Dover and Sovereign … made it to Southsea in three days. Felt lucky with those winds! Hard work for you guys in SW’lies. Great vlog as usual, thanks for sharing! 👏🏽⛵️👍🏼
Hi Roy, sounds like you had a pretty good passage overall, and single handed is always a lot more difficult. It's hard sailing up the south coast against the prevailing winds and vicious tides thanks for your comment 😁
Hello Lads, absolutely loving all the adventures! Loved when you moored in Yarmouth & showed the map which said River Yare (and showed Brundall where I live) & on today’s video it showed Bembridge Marina (where my Dad lives on the island 🏝) I know you are currently in Pembroke as I follow your Facebook posts, (I’m from Carmarthenshire) saw Adam polishing down the boat! So very excited to watch all your new videos. Be proud of yourselves, you are living the dream. So proud of you both, keep focussed & remember we are all behind you. Fair winds ⛵️ and cheese 🧀 a plenty always my friends 🙂⭐️
Hi Cara Thanks for the message, it made a lovely read 😁. The polishing has been completed now, all repairs and tasks are nearly done. Hopefully we will be setting off sometime next week weather permitting, your message really made a smile 😄👌
I like the new logo and the choice of music over the sea shots, adds real atmosphere to the sailing. 85 nm's is very good going, shame about the wind over tide effect though. Isn't there a real difference between your early destinations with mountains and wonky buildings, islands with shops in the pub etc. It has to be said the south coast is a bit bland by comparison. I'm at sea as I write this, thank goodness I bought a Power Station which, on a full charge gives me 17 hours of coms time....might be good for your trip across the globe.....Great vid with great shots of living on the boat as well. More please....
Really glad you enjoyed the episode David, 85 nautical miles isn't too bad 😄 We do miss sailing in Scotland, it's full of mountains, beautiful anchorages, Islands, it's a lovely place shame about the weather hahaha. We have battery Banks which are pretty good for charging various things. We have just upgraded our batteries two 130 amp hour just about fitted in battery box 😗😀
Cool new episode!! 👀😁👍 Do you guys troll fish as your sailing? Just wondering due to tides and all might not be feasible.. too funny good singing :) hehe Coffee shop in a phone booth! what!!?? 👀🤣👍👌 Pretty tall ship what is her name? Lovely angles?? what who is a mathematician :) hehe
We used to drag lures whilst sailing, but we found they skipped along the surface. Luke's singing was awful and yes coffee shop in a phone box, pretty darn 😎 we can't remember the name of that ship now soz Thoughtful Wanderer 😃
Blimey, I've missed watching you and am now just catching up. If you estimate how many sunny days in your trip how many do you think there were and how many days for the total trip? Looks like less than 50%. How I don't miss the English weather!!! Another interesting vlog guys - I have recommended my Sea Scouts crew watch you!
Very down to earth you guys :) I like your gung-ho attitude! You must be very confident of your anchor, what type have you got and what length of chain do you use?
and a nice time was had by all
😉😙 sure was John
🤩👍 Great sailing m8s! 🧭⛵🗺
😁👍👌

Absolutely loved the filming and music sequence at 26:48; a magic pairing.
Thanks very much Jane, you have Luke to thank for that 😀
I worked on Dungeness power station 30 years ago, stayed in Barry when I worked on East Aberthaw power station many years ago
I worked in East aberthaw power station couple of years ago, very dirty place, coal dust in your sandwiches 🥪😋
Yet again great video
All day breakfast looks lovely
enjoy the Isle of wight
stay safe take care boys
Thank you Peter, take care mate 😁

Wow , really, that so nice, what a fantastic charity 😀👏
Adam or Luke, your definition of "pool" mean deep water?
Nothing better than a nights sail arriving ahead of schedule!!
Fair Winds!!⛵🇺🇸
That's correct James, there is a pool there, deeper water than the surrounding water, and ahead of schedule 😊thanks for the comment
Our old stomping ground until we moved to NZ great trip to follow guys. Making us feel a little home sick.
The UK coastline is amazing, fantastic sailing. Hopefully one day we will sail New Zealand ⛵😁

Thanks for all the interesting information John, much appreciated buddy 👍
Very nice sailing shots and músic! 👍 Saludos from the other side of the pool.
Hay Jaffet, cheers bud 👍👌

No one really like sailing to windward, especially when the tides against you, it's rather pointless. A nice beam reach we prefer 😇
great video again lads Lukes miming has to be the highlight, good fun as always :) some great camera angles too, fair winds boys :)
Luke found it hilarious 😆🤣. We have been experimenting with the camera angles, it seems to be going down a treat
have you noticed the start and the end of the day are at daft o'clock!
Oh yes lol
Plot the tide wind angle etc on a paper chart. You'll get a much better mental picture of your progress West...
Thanks William, we shall give it a go ✌
Thanks guys brilliant as usual...
Thank you 😊
Very enjoyable lads, love the way you captured the boat cutting through the water great stuff 👍
It's a pleasure Mark , thank you for watching
You should have popped in for a cup of tea greetings from Portsmouth. Have fun instead on the lsla Wigey 😎
Greetings to Portsmouth, a cup of tea would have gone down lovely with a biscuit 😋
17mins 30seconds need a bit more luff tension in the main halyard there boys ;-)
Thanks Adrian, taken on board 😉
4:48 this is a lovely segment of music and sailing footage. So relaxing and classy too. Fantastic work lads!
Cheers for the lovely comments 😁
Nice vid Bros, I like the way you choose the not so popular places to stay from time to time.

It's a lovely little spot in that pool, we have stayed there a couple of times now always a pleasure. We don't use an anchor ball, never have Bern 🤔
An enjoyable sail. Your filming keeps getting better, some great sailing shots. The red ensign is flying at last, I was waiting for it to appear.
Cheers Graham 👍 we have been experimenting with camera shots and Lukes editing is getting better every day
Another great episode, as always! Keep it going Luke & Adam!
Cheers Dag 👍🍻
Been checking all day for this episode 😀
We hope you enjoy it Richard
Great episode. Lots of lovely sailing!! Good to see you actually sail and not jump strait for the engine as far to many sailors do. Sail boats are meant to sail!! 👍😁⛵
Luke hates to use the engine, we would rather sail slowly than gets the noisy engine going 😃
@@TheSailingBrothers Just how it should be!! 😁⛵
My Grandads Hurricane is somewhere off Hastings. First time out, the engine seized up and he used his chute. He was only in the sea for 10 minutes till a fishing boat picked him up but he said his balls were damn near frozen off.
Wow, that's amazing , thank you carbidegrd. I'm not surprised, the North Sea is pretty darn cold
Try the Baja bash 800 miles to weather self inflicted pain twice!!
Ouch 🤕
Dungeoness is definitely nuclear ... you probably knew that, but a comment is good for the algorithm :D
Yes we guessed it was a nuclear power station, thanks for letting us know 😁
Top job lads! You guys are really putting full effort in to the visuals and editing. You’ve come on so far far. Enjoying the Vids..keep it up!
Thanks Nick, we are finding out what camera angles work and what looks good. Lukes editing is getting better and better on every episode 😁
Well done guys. In my home waters, was in Priory Bay and Bembridge just a couple of days ago.
Thanks Richard, it's always lovely sailing the south coast, plenty of anchorages past Isle of Wight and loads of fish and chip shops 😁
Loved the video. Getting lots of night sailing practice in. Its a long time since I've been to the Isle of Wight.
Great sailing episode lads, really enjoying your channel 👍👍🇮🇪🇮🇪
Really glad you're enjoying the content, thanks Christy 😄
Dungeness B nuclear power station now decommissioned. Great video again.
Thanks for the information David👌

Great video as usual. The over the boat shots of the sea are lovely x
We have been experimenting with different camera angles. I think they are working out great, thanks Snowy 🦉

Hi Gary, thanks for your comments 👍will look into that tablet mount. Glad your enjoying the vids 😊
What a lovely sail!! If sailing was like that all the time!!! Fair winds. Cheers from Muros
It was a really nice sail ⛵ yes if only it was like that all the time! 😃

Great episode lads, I’m getting excited as you get closer to my spiritual home, Cowes, IOW. Where is home base, Cardiff?
Home is Cardiff, but we are in Pembrokeshire carrying out some work on Atlas before the Atlantic trip😁
Really enjoyed all the videos , looking forward to the Atlantic adventure , well done lads
Glad you're enjoying the videos Wayne, we are very much looking forward to our Atlantic adventure and bringing all you guys along with us 😉
Love your channel, great content. My big question....so "tea" is dinner?
Thanks Maxwell, your correct tea is dinner where we come from 😆
Two power stations there. Dungeness A the square one and B the rounder one I believe both are now being decommissioned.
Thanks for the information Chris😄

all good on the name nice ship though stay safe you two!!1
Blimey, I've missed watching you and am now just catching up. If you estimate how many sunny days in your trip how many do you think there were and how many days for the total trip? Looks like less than 50%. How I don't miss the English weather!!! Another interesting vlog guys - I have recommended my Sea Scouts crew watch you!
Hi Pauline, we did not have many sunny days, but it was enough to keep the batteries charged. 4 months in all thank you for recommending us
It’s Dungeness B nuclear power station the first advanced gas-cooled reactor to be constructed in the UK
Thanks Craig 👌
Hi Lads. What nav program do you use when explaining you anchorage, tide direction etc.
Enjoying your journey very much
Thanks for your question. We use navionics on charts and phone's we have paper chance but they very rarely get used
Very down to earth you guys :) I like your gung-ho attitude! You must be very confident of your anchor, what type have you got and what length of chain do you use?
Hi Dean thank you very much indeed. We are very confident in our ground tackle, we have a 25 lb cqr and 60 m of 8 ml chain
It is a Nuk power station I ankoured same place as you 1984
I was born in 1984, it was a good year 😅😁
👏👏🙌✌👊👍
😃😄😁👊
That lock doesn't look nearly as deep as Cardiff
They were quite small compared to Cardiff
😷👍
😃😄😁✌✌
You guys are using wayyyyy too much throttle when mooring.
Also try to not steer as much when in reverse.👍
Perfect timing chaps ..cold beer...bag of crisps..kids in bed!!
It's like we read your mind Jon 😉
Well you are famous! I'm watching. ;)
I suppose we are a little famous in the UK 😁😁
