one weird trick to augment all your realities
Love the xreal glasses but despise the OG beam I bought with it. The beam overheats within 1.5 of game gameplay and the Beam Pro can't even be used with the Switch. Beam Pro can be used with cloud gaming and android apps. From a gamer's perspective, just use your phone with the adapter. Thank you so much for helping realize that you don't need the beam with the Switch, just use the cheaper adapter. That small detail is readily known.

I wish someone I know had one of these AR glasses. I wanna try them and see if I can use them for productivity, I'm afraid of buying a pair and realize some days later they're not what I was looking for.
And they are stylish enough to wear while youre out and about running errands.

They dont look bad.. look like average sun glasses... Probably wouldnt even be noticeable you were wearing ar glasses.
I own the same pair. Blurry at times and hard to compare to a giant TV along with the quality. It had some advantages but eye strain wasn’t mentioned. I am curious with the new beam pro due to the extreme limitations of the current beam I paid for. Didn’t get the hub with the purchase and had to pay for that separately. I thought having these to play switch or steamdeck on would be a great experience but almost boils down to preference of just the screen on the device it self honestly. Sure being able to surpass DRM limitations for some streaming for traveling has some perks. The glasses do put out a lot of heat after 10 minutes of use which isn’t a huge gripe but during the summer we have enough heat as is. I wasn’t sponsored or given any discounts for my raw review here, just pointing out my experience. I’ve had mine for about a year and use them maybe twice a season since then. 6/10 based off of limitations on certain devices along with having to purchase extra equipment that should have been provided.
Thanks for the VR-Rock tip. Currently using my new beam pro and waiting on my glasses. Cant wait to watch House of the Dragon on them!! Might even go back to season 1 just to watch the dragon scenes on my glasses. 😁

Its weird... I didnt know I had eye problems until I was in my early 20's.. never had an eye exam prior to then.. always thought the world looked the way it did... One night I was working a job where I was outside and looking across the street at a building thats walls were red bricks, I for some reason closed one eye, then closed the other, looking at the building individually with each eye. One eye I could clearly see bricks, the other I saw a smooth surface... Thats when I finally realized I probably should get my eyes checked. 😅
Wish I could play my 3DS games in 3D this way!!
You can kinda play 3DS games on oculus quest but emulation presents some issues n all that but what you can play looks dope
I would love to try them on an old android game (Into the Dead). I don't think I'd ever attempt hooking those up to my switch systems for fear of the port issue using 3rd party docks.
If you have the original Beam addon you don't need any dock - it connects just with c-to-c cable. No power in, just battery (you can add power with the Hub but I guess that would basically be a dock).:
Anyway, works great on my Switch.

Madlittlepixel just get laser eye surgery it's worth it not to have to deal with glasses anymore.
I would never get laser eye surgery, not to get deep into it... But it is something I just wont do, I would rather wear glasses.
