    I was going down this exact road until last Friday, shopping and pricing 458s daily. Then my. Chevy dealer called and said they received 2 allocations. I snapped and the Z06 convertible is on order with lots of carbon, including the wheels, carbon ceramic brakes, competition seats and more. Who knows, maybe one day there will still be a Ferrari in my garage. But for now, I’m going with better technology and warranty and a less exclusive experience. I don’t care about what it is worth in the future, just about enjoying now, or whenever it shows up.

      i the same.. your budget is probably a little higher shopping for 458s but I was shopping for gen 2 audi r8s which have a bulletproof v10 but felt more comfortable going with the c8 z06 especially knowing I have the factory warranty.

    The new C8-Z06 is a super car due to the awesome performance but not an exotic due the high production numbers. Still the best deal out there if you are looking for a sport car. In USA people say doesn't turn heads like a 458 but drive one or any Corvette in Spain, Italy or any European country and you will see a lot of broken necks

    I’m a true car guy, So I like several different cars, I think if some of these Ferrari/ exotic car guys would actually drive the new Z06 they may think differently. I have driven and owned many different performance, Supercars, modded and stock and this new Z06 impressed the hell out of me. Check one out you too may change your mind? I’m buying one at MSRP $126k.

      oh definitely, more people need to drive one, especially Ferrari and Lambo guys. It's an amazing car. And that's awesome to hear!

    Anyone who says they prefer a Ferrari 458 vs C8 Z06 is also saying they prefer paying $5,000 for an oil change. The low maintenance costs of the C8 make it so much less costly to OWN & DRIVE - no matter what the initial purchase price is. GM has not only made a supercar and supercar killer, they have made it inexpensive to own. Incredible feat, this car.

      I have owned my Ferrari for over 4 years....still looking for the mythical 5k oil changes that nonowners tell me about.

      @greatlakescreativesolutions313 How many miles on your Ferrari? If it's very low mileage (and I suspect it is) - you have not yet been exposed to realistic service costs. Garage queens don't create expense - until you actually drive them.

      I daily drove my 488 for a couple thousand miles and currently have over 48k miles on my old Ferrari 360. You really need to check your facts from actual owners. The Engine and Transmission on these cars are solid and a major mechanical issue is rarely discussed on the Ferrari Forums like Ferrarichat or the Facebook Ferrari Owners Packages. If you drive Ferraris like a normal car they act pretty much like a normal car, and companies like Ricambi have plenty of OEM and Aftermarket parts for maintenance.
      I find it strange to compare a Vette to a Ferrari because the ownership experience is completely different. The Vette is more similar to a normal car experience while Ferraris and Lamborghini, etc are more if an event. That comes with + and - but when you actually own these cars the day to day experience between them is vastly different. It's not just performance numbers that matter when we are talking about six-figure toys.

      @@MTS4success896 You have mentioned aftermarket parts for maintenance, how is it with more central parts? Let's assume the worst case: Motor damage. Are these parts still available for the 458 or 360?

      @@PrometheusLux Parts are EXTREMELY plentiful for the 360 and 430 platforms and pretty plentiful for the 458. These cars rarely have lower engine problems, so when a Ferrari is totaled out in a car crash, their are not many people who really need the parts. Pretty much every week on ebay you can buy a Longblock 360 Engine for under 15k, Gearbox for under 10k, etc. The 458, 458, and 488 share parts with a bunch of other Ferraris so again, parts are not nearly as ridiculous as say a Bentley out of warranty.

    It IS an American 458 and also a Supercar. It’s not an exotic. At or below MSRP, it’s an astonishing deal. The 458 is just epic forever.

    Great video Cass! A couple of point outs on that particular zo6 you drove. Although it is a 3LZ it’s still a very base car, that car had the middle of the line seats (GT2), no interior stealth pack, no level 2 carbon interior, no carbon ceramics or carbon wheels. I think you’d be even more impressed if you drove one that had all the options I listed that are missing on that car. You’d really enjoy mine with the Sport cats, and full exhaust. I do agree with you on all the points though! The Ferrari will always be a Ferrari but the zo6 is the more modern bang for the buck with the latest technology. Looking forward to seeing Gabe The GOAT in the videos !!

      Also the Competition Seats are the top of the line “race” seat for the zo6.

      Thanks man I appreciate you watching! Ohhh okay that makes sense, I thought I had seen more optioned cars before, thank you for that correction. I can imagine how well your car drives especially with the ceramics and that exhaust sounds insane! Z06 vs 458 is a very interesting debate but both are amazing cars in their own right, hahaha Gabe the GOAT....should be fun!

    C8 series Corvettes vs Ferraris entire 458 chassis based cars is pretty much no contest. Corvette has been demolishing Ferrari in pretty much everything a sports car could possibly be other than extremely light weight. Just the C8 Stingray with Z51 package beats all 458s on Nürburgring lap times by a healthy margin. The Z06 with the Z07 package is faster on track than a TRIBUTO and seemingly cannot be overheated. It has completely humiliated every Lamborghini Huracan including the STO track special. Chevys Y chassis C8 series is beating CARBON TUB cars albeit heavier. GM motors flexed its muscles and pretty much humiliated every exotic car company outside of the UTRA RARE exotics simply based on performance. They have also given the public a template to make the cars as hardcore as you want them. I have seen kitted Stingrays that simply look far better than any 458 side by side. Point being you have to look at the whole picture with clarity instead of Dollar signs , and the C8 series is simply TOO hard to beat no matter the price.

    Makes Zero sense to buy a Z06 w Z07 package when you can by a future classic Ferrari 458. 458 prices will be going up while Z06 will be going down. It’s a Ferrari not a Chevy. “Everyone” has a corvette not many can say they have a Ferrari

      to each their own, really. The Z06 100% does some things that are just simply better than the 458. But no doubt the 458 will be more of future classic and will retain it's value well. 458 can do no wrong

    I don't like that the convertible doesn't have row bars above the seats. All convertibles need that

    You Can make a C8 Stingray as loud as a C8 Z06 with a Corsa Extreme muffler delete with AFM valves and so they are comparable sound wise with aftermarket parts but the C8 Z06 blows it away performance wise and thats why I'm going to sell my 2022 Corvette Stingray for C8 Z06 in 3 years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

    Congrats on copying the 458 engine, but I think most of the styling is ugly. The side intake is cool on the z06 though. Much better than the regular c8

    The 458 may feel as fast as the Z06, but it really isn't. Seen videos with a 458 owner racing against a 2023 Z06 and a Lambo EVO. The Z06 dominated.

    Corvette is on a silent campaign to becoming an American super car and it’s own brand separate from Chevy.
    The prices went up again for 2024. They will continue to go up into the $90k range for base, and $150k avg.
    The c8 is just the start of this campaign.
