  • Today we are travelling to Cape Palliser which is the Southernmost point of the North Island.
It was named in 1770 by Captain James Cook in honour of his friend Admiral Sir Hugh Palliser of the British Royal Navy.
Seals, Stunning walks, the spiffiest lighthouse and awesome 4wd track- you will find them all at Cape Palliser.
It is relatively easy track with few tricky bits but still take precautions.
And after the Waterfall the track is washed out even more and gonna be pretty tricky to go past. We will possibly come back and try something to tackle that problem.
Till then enjoy the video and don't forget to like and subscribe to support the Channel :)

Just FYI, the land in-between the lighthouse and waituna stream belongs to Nagti Hinewaka. You drove over various 600 - 800 year old maori structures, build by the direct descendants of Kupe. Campinm is not permitted there. Only place where you can camp is north of the river. Good to see you didnt go onto the beach and wreck the dotterel nesting grounds / seal colonies. Please be very respectful when entering this whenua, the place is tapu to many. You are not of that tapu.

      Hey,
Yea i have been told before and after the lighthouse is private land so we drove through it and closed the gates as told. We camped after the stream and cleaned up some of the mess there too. We promote cleanliness and respect the land we drive on always 🙂

Confirms my own impression of this crew ... rev heads wrecking the land.

Great video. You've included enough footage for us to get a good perspective of the area, thank you. Also, I appreciate that you done have any annoying music added to the video 👍

While you guys were making hard work of getting into that creek crossing... looks like a small 2 door Vitara does the easy creek crossing around you.
Going for the unnecessary click bait video shot doesn’t endure you to anyone.

Sorry mate if that bothers you but we just crawled into it without sending it like toyotas and other 4x4 trucks. If it’s too much and destroys the track then of course we try to go around.

Hey, this may be a dumb question, but when you go out to remote places with a bunch of cars, do you have radios with you so you can talk to each other?

    • @ravenoverlanding

Na man you all good, and yes we do carry radios with us on pretty much every trip.

How do you get to it?

    • @ravenoverlanding
      @ravenoverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว

Drive to the lighthouse and there’s a gate which you can pass through and make sure to close it after. Then there will be few more gates and will be same process and its private land so make sure to respect the track 🙂 after that its Doc Land.
