Old post but bass response is tight and deep but this also depends a lot on the speakers you have. I’m running this with a pair of Polk LSIM’S and it’s perfect with the bass turned at one o’clock.
Buying one today, plus matching Denon CD and cassette deck and Mission speakers. $50 CDN.

It was a really good basic receiver. It should be paired with a subwoofer for better bass.
