Just so you guys know the cable only bends this bad at 15:25 because joshua made his hole in the wrong place, it's supposed to be in the bottom (there is a smal slit in the module bay, the tbs tango still needs it drilled/melted but the tango v3 had a marking on the case where to put it) then it goes in nice and tidy and gives you a bit more cable to open and close the radio if you'd ever need to do that. Be aware of that before you do the mod! Edit: removed a typo and thanks for the pin :)
seems like all the videos cut the hole in the wrong place (too high), I haven't installed it yet on my tango V3. Where does it show where to cut the hole? on the inside of the back of the radio case?
I have to say TBS is one of my favorite brands in this hobby, both for their products but also for everything they try to do for the community! And as always, a great video from you Joshua, thank you!
Great video! 🔥 The only thing that I would do different is melting the hole towards the back/your belly when you hold the remote. The hole should go below the USB-C and Audio connectors but not the bottom of the case. There are actually some indicators on the inside of the remote cover that show you where the hole should be melted through. This way you can loop the ribbon cable over the 'screw-on' plastic part of the multiprotocol module (as seen at 13:01 one the right side). This way the ribbon cable won't be as long and it will have less stress. It will also look a a bit cleaner as the cable will be well hidden. 🙂
I love how every bit feels like it is very customer friendly and the intention genuinely was not to make money with this in the first place it is just a damn good remote!
I should always go through your playlist first before I email you. And yet, you still patently answer my questions that were answered in videos like these, if I only found them before. Thanks Joshua.
I was literally watching his other tango videos again this morning because I finally got my tango and I thought about wishing JB did this exact video. That’s crazy
You screw the gimbal screws in before assembling and it's much easier. The 4 middle screws can be put on to hold them in while you put it back together, they don't go into the shell at all.
I fly DJI, but still watched this video hoping to learn something. And guess what it was? How clever (and obvious in retrospect) it is to stick the textured battery fastener together and then press the battery against that. It always pays to watch the videos, even if they aren't directly relevant. Good stuff, Joshua.
BTW there is a 'thick white line creating a box shape' on the PCB to outline where the battery should be aligned to, just saying maybe it helps someone.
