    What I don't like about San Diego as a San Diegan local, is too many transplants/long-term tourists and too few locals. It can get hard to date long-term or have long-lasting friendships when you want to stay in your hometown(San Diego) because then your friends or partners have/want to move back to their state. San Diego is very transient and that can be very discouraging for someone who is a local.
    Also the cost of living is very high.

    People from out of State and Country flooding here and pushing the home prices up and trying to turn my hometown into the City they ran away from.

    I just moved to San Diego from Hawaii and I absolutely hate it here. The homeless situation is out of control and the streets are disgusting. I see more human poo than dog poo in the streets. The weather is actually quite terrible. The cost of living is high like Hawaii, but you are not getting what you paid for and the scenery is a bare desert. Taxes and traffic are another story. The people are okay, but Californians seem entitled af. They are kind but act like they are better than people from other states. People who love San Diego truly have a soft spot for their home, but I highly recommend exploring other cities for a better perspective. Only thing I can't complain about is the food. The Mexican and Italian food is 🔥

      Dude, you gotta start hiking and learning the Spanish and indigenous history of San Diego. It's like Mediterranean of USA. Influence from Spain and even Tijuana. Lots of Italian influence. Go out to the hikes in east San Diego... breathtaking views of endless Mediterranean landscape that go far past the view of the border...SD definitely an athletic town I think that's why it feels like everyone acts like they are #1 😂

      The homeless situation in Hawaii is unbelievable as well. Worse, you are waterlocked, so you can’t even escape if you wanted to. I’d take Vegas over Hawaii.

    Maybe this is just an east county thing. But I hate how many hills there are.I also feel like public transport is just too limited. Another thing is their isnt much to do without at least spending 100 bucks.

    Somewhat expensive!!! It's crazy expensive here!! And the roads are full of trash because they stopped picking it up about 5 years ago. I noticed no one from SD was asked so most of these people have no clue about the real cost of living here. If you aren't making 200K + a year, forget about living here or you will be living in the hood in a 500 sq ft pad and working 7 days a week to make ends meet.

    • @Blessingsuponyou

      Not exactly
      You can mortgage and get a affordable manufactured home under a grand in Hemet and work in San diego

    • @uncountedvoter9449
      @uncountedvoter9449 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Blessingsuponyou Yes' you can find a house in the desert and drive to a more hospitable work location. But the whole point of living in SD is for the weather and the ocean and you get nether in Hemet but you will get the highest petrol, natural gas, and electrical (SDGE) prices in the country along with high taxes and low wages.

    I was stationed in San Diego twice being in the Navy and other than the weather, scenery, and the food (I love california burritos) I couldn't stand San Diego. It was too white wash (despite being described as "diverse"). There's a lot of racism (it's subtle). People are extremely flaky, and everybody is so self-absorbed. And the dating...trash!!!

    One Word : GOVERNEMENT. Over-taxed, over--regulated, over-priced. After 25 years in East County, I had enough of Newsome, SANDAG, and Sacramento. (If Idaho only had a San Diego climate----).

    I lived there for 10 months and while the weather was great, it was too boring and really did a disservice to the residents there. San Diego is a small city that’s basically two midgets on top of each other in a trenchcoat, trying to enter the “Suburb” club. But it’s clearly not a suburb. It also refuses to properly urbanize and develop cool things for young people to do other than become a surfer beach bum, smoke weed, and obsess over craft beer. It was mostly a great city, but really didn’t take advantage of its potential because it was so scared that development would make some of its residents clutch their pearls.

    I've been in SD before and I don't like how everything is far away, all the good stuff is 20-30 mins from where my family lives and commuting is not fun, and definitely can't afford housing prices. If you live in the south there isn't much and the IB beach is polluted by Tj. But what can ya do except pray the Rosary that more job and entertainment opportunities come to your area.
