Animation of a 10-retort Automated Batch Retort System (ABRS) with cooling water recovery and vent steam heat recapture. This is the first application utilizing robots to perform sweep-type retort basket loading and unloading in conjunction with robotic pick-and-place layer pad insertion and removal. The retorts in this installation are dual-mode in that they are capable of processing both rigid steel cans with saturated steam processing and fragile and semirigid containers with overpressure/counter pressure water spray processing.
