What do you think? Of course this is not investment advice - just my personal thoughts :) Only buy a watch if you LIKE it, then the value thing comes second! Subscribe if you want to see more! Thanks for watching!
He is smarter, just spending money on a Rolex which doesn't loose value over too many cars... and no watches... Sell one of you cars and get 3-4 Rolex watches instead!
You should recommend the Rolex GMT Master II BLNR (Batman) - Ref. 116710BLNR or the new Daytona. I reckon if someone can get hold of a new Daytona for sure get that one. They are difficult to get and you can pretty much sell it immediately after the purchase for more as there are more people that want one vs. available on the market! From the Hulk or Deepsea I would recommend the Hulk.
Tbh if you want to make money on Rolex buy vintage professional models: (1665/5513/1655/6263/6265/1680 ) rather than current models which will be unfashionably large in size 5 yrs as watch fashions dropping at the afficinado level - investment RTN has been double that of new stuff over last 5 yrs eg 1676 2015 £3500 now in 2020 £11,000 / 300% in 9 yrs which is twice house values or FTSE or wine or vintage cars or......
Just got the Batman GMT II 2019, costed me on retail 17,900 $ and this was the least I found in town after 4 months of search. The market demand on them are crazy!!!
3.15 "If you are managing to bust one of these going for a swim, then you are doing quite well" Indeed, if you can buy one you aren't doing too badly either.
Personally, I'd choose the Submariner Hulk mainly because of its more interesting looks and its smaller size, to be honest! The Deepsea is justa bit too thick for my wrist.. To your second question: I'd like to see a review and your opinion about some modern, affordable Seiko Watches! :)
Deepsea doesn't even work when used for deep sea diving :D The bloody gas escape valve never works, deep sea divers use Casio Gshocks or old battered subs.
Well, good to know! :D But honestly, who would wear an 10k Rolex while diving, even if it's supposedly made for that? That's like dressing up in a black suit every time you go to McDonalds, just because you can...
Well its a funny story really, the Subs were never meant to be cool or flashy. The rich yuppy boys of the 80s saw the rough, tough, cool and incredibly rich divers (back from the 70s till the late 80s deepsea drivers made INSANE money tax free) rocking these cool watches and thought.... I wanna be like them and so the desktop diver was born. No different than a teenage boy idolising a Stallone Rambo poster. Most of these deepsea divers were ex-SBS, I sh!t you not, which made it infinitely cooler again.... and oh yes it was also the original bond watch ;-) All of this contributed along with Rolexs marketing to make a very desirable watch/brand. The honest truth is the movement by Rolex is not that great and frequently unreliable, the ETA movement in the Tudor is 10x more reliable and keeps time better!. So my Sub stays in its box and the Tudor has been worn daily by me since the time it was released a few years back. I will never sell it, it means the world to me. So @TGE I have a little more respect for you than I did before after the 'kick the woman touching my GT3' fiasco ;-) Anyway... I'm sure someone on here will try to correct me :D
TGE what about taking a different perspective but on the same topic. About 5 years ago I bought a Tag Heuer Monaco, this related back to first seeing it in the movie Le Mans with Steve McQueen - I just thought the watch looked fantastic. So after much saving I bought it and wore it everyday which meant the usual bangs and scrapes. I stopped wearing it about 2 years ago and its lay in its box - no reason just life. Your new vlog series has made me look to get it back out again. Anyway at the time of buying I knew nothing about servicing (the old digital timex never needed that!) or proper care when not on the wrist. Can you share your knowledge on those matters, for example should you go back to the manufacturer or is it just as sensible to go to a specialist - how do you find those specialist over and above a numpty google search, how should it be stored if it requires movement to 'charge' - I think I saw something about the risk of parts not getting oil if you just store it in the box. Keep up the good work, you actually seem more relaxed and enthused by the watches than the cars! Cheers, Kevin
For me the best rolex is the cellini prince 5441/9 ... Speaking recently with a great collector he told me that the little appreciated 2005 prince collection will be the strong point of future investment for rolex ... The prince has a good caliber 7040 manual and is the first the only one in the history of Rolex with a visible case back
Have you invested in bitcoin? Just wondering as Richard Branson and all the top millionaires are, it costs £3,500 for a bitcoin and it's predicted to be 1 million in 10 years
great choice, Seiko make some great divers watches. Especially the one you mention with the automatic movement. Avoid the 'kinetic' crap, its just marketing for quartz! I am actually looking at a Seiko right now for a workshop daily, since I'm gonna be getting my hands dirty on that M3!
I've always been into watches but never understood the way the market is like cars, with "flipping" watches etc. I've personally got a few Tissot MotoGP limited editions and have no idea what they're worth
Wonder what you think of watches made by Australian company Fifth, fairly inexpensive, elegant watches they try to give some kind of exclusivity by only opening their online store for orders every 5th of the month.
I really like these watch videos, even if i havent got the pare cash to buy any of them !... maybe something super low budget but worth investing in and something right at the top end... there wouldnt be any sort of comparison between them but it would be cool to see something from either end of the spektrum from your collection
Damn! Love the video mate, and the "series" (or at least the two videos so far aha). If only this video was uploaded yesterday! I went shopping with my Father for his anniversary, he bought a 2017 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41 as an Investment. Do you think this was a good choice?
Serious question How do you buy a car on finance then are able to get rid of it after 6 months or so? I thought you can't sell a car on finance before everything is paid back. Cheers my lamb
You can sell a car on finance anytime you like, however the amount you owe is put on top of the price of the vehicle. For example if I had a car I bought for 10k, 2 months down the line I wanted to get rid of it and it was valued at 9k but I still owed 9500 to the finance company, the 500 outstanding would be added to the price of the vehicle, if that makes sense
+thesmoothone So when tge for example keeps getting a new car every few months on finance he's just yielding a slight profit on the cars value then paying the 200k back etc then having maybe a 1k profit pocketed for himself?
Stephen White he only buys cars he thinks won't lose money, or will appreciate so the cars value doesn't really drop much from the price he payed or ideally it goes up.
Cheers for the advice Tom! As an Omega Seamaster owner I'm drawn to the Submariner, not a massive fan of green watches, but I'd be tempted for a Submariner in the colour of the Deep sea. I think my next watch will be a second hand Tag Monaco but I do like these Rolex and see one in my future, anyway, thanks for the videos and keep them coming :-)
Interesting video. I've been trying to get hold of a hulk for a while. Long waits at most ADs. What I'd really like to know though is how you can have tens of thousands in watches, hundreds of thousands in cars, and still have your dining table in your lounge.
Good vid, informative! Personally deep sea just looks way to big, bit of builders watch! Submariners seem to be everywhere. Quality movement in an understated watch would be more my thing, any suggestions in this price bracket??
What do you think? Of course this is not investment advice - just my personal thoughts :) Only buy a watch if you LIKE it, then the value thing comes second!

TGE TV so you bought the watches so they can go underwater, so that you can wear them while you look for your M4 DTM and GT4?

Yes! Below £200 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 can't wait ⏱⏱
This video aged very well considering today’s values. Good work sir
Currently deciding if I should buy a Date-Just or Sub. Rah. Views on your grail watches or some Pateks and APs?
Drakotar If you don't plan on keeping it for the rest of your life, get the sub. They hold their value better.
Love this series, finally not a fucking nutter talking about watches! Good shit TGE
You nasty nasty fucker!
Your couch cushion to your left if facing the wrong way 😬
You should recommend the Rolex GMT Master II BLNR (Batman) - Ref. 116710BLNR or the new Daytona. I reckon if someone can get hold of a new Daytona for sure get that one. I dunno why I'm watching this, I can't afford a Big Mac 😂
Mikey, your time will come like everyone else does but when it does, don’t change, be yourself . all the best
@@grimreaper8991 I subbed. Great motivation man ✌🏾
You spent over £15,000 on watches I'm struggling to get myself to spend £5,000 on a car 😂😂😂
bet he buys the lot with credit card.
Disregard female acquire currency
Sgd On cars exactly. I'm in the same boat
because he can flip those watches and get more than he paid for
you can actually buy them on loan. Most dealers offer 5 year interest-free financing options
I'm wearing a DeepSea D Blue right now, love your watch video's.
Thank you
Great info - Where do you usually get your info for potential discontinuity of a watch? If you do not want to give that away, any help on web sources?
Psun rolexforums
Love these videos about watches
Luv the sub!
Mad keen on the watch talk vids, keep them coming!
What about servicing ur watches. How often. do u use them. and do u use a watch winder.
Do you insure your watches at all either via a specialist or adding onto your home insurance?

If you bought the watch from abroad did you put it in your hand luggage or keep in on your wrist or did it go in the hold ?
Any idea whether the ceramic bezel is easier to scratch to any noticeable degree?
what do you think of the new 116622 with rhodium dial and platinum bezel?

Where do you suggest to buy those watch in London any hidden shop ?
I have Certina DS action diver .... will you show watches with same price as this one?
Just got the Batman GMT II 2019, costed me on retail 17,900 $ and this was the least I found in town after 4 months of search. The market demand on them are crazy!!!
It's an investment piece
If you treat the watches like that I'm not sure they will keep the best conditions LOL
3.15 "If you are managing to bust one of these going for a swim, then you are doing quite well"
Indeed, if you can buy one you aren't doing too badly either.
It is quite a price difference, but which clocks faster?
Good advice, I have both of these models.
Nice watches. Are you going to wear them and remove all packaging?
I have the black dial sub with the date. Had it for 4 years since new. Love it.
Can u tell me where you got the sea dweller from as i have searched for it online and can't find it. 4/5k is my budget to buy a watch.
Where would you sell watches like this Tom?
Awesome video tom as always, definitely my favourite TH-cam channel.
I love all watches so any video is good to me
How'd you get in to watches?and where do you attain your knowledge of the watch market? Sweet vid
Why would you check the time when deep sea diving ?
really enjoyed the vlog... thank you TGE

Love your watch talk vids! Both beautiful watches!!!
hahaha you crack me up "I am not going to flip this unlike everything else I own" that sir made me laugh out loud!!!
Thanks for the video. Have you bought any Tudor watches?, if so which one would you recommend.
what case do you use for your iphone btw?
I like these series. Keep it up dude
Does this work for my seiko
Great vids, keep em up they're really entertaining
what do you think of steinhart watches? Ocean 1, or GMT to be exact aha
I like the way he shakes the boxes. So delicate
Was you on waiting list for these to get at sticker price?

Great video again! Can I ask what if anything you use as a daily beater watch please?
Sorry, I should have watched to the end before asking! If you ever fancy a fantastic burger at my pub near Joe Macari then please drop me a message
TGE what do u think about the daytona
How do u know what boxes it should come in?
Good video really enjoying watch talk
If only either of these were available in the UK...both have huge waiting lists..
nice review mate...killing it!
Have you invested in bitcoin? Just wondering as Richard Branson and all the top millionaires are, it costs £3,500 for a bitcoin and it's predicted to be 1 million in 10 years
hella-flush Also very interested in this. Doesn't seem that straight forward to buy in the UK though..
Mike Terry yeah it is a bit tricky. talk to a broker tough. They can probably advise you
Fucking hell, I remember when Bitcoin was worth £300, that shit has shot up!
Yes I see what you mean I was going to buy 1bit at £1500 this year and then I watched a video on how to invest in it I just got discouraged
Dam I'm going to remember these comments we are posting in 3 years time when bitcoin is 100k haha
What's your opinion on Oris watches? They are reasonably priced and have a few limited edition models.
Some Oris? Do you like them?
Also can you tell us how to invest in expensive modern cars
What's your opinion on a Tag Heuer?
Are you wearing gmt pepsi white gold rolex?
Another awesome vid - can't wait for the next one - £200 and below should be a good video
I've got a Tag Grand Carrera that I'd consider selling for the right price - where should I be looking to sell it??
James Hibbert Chrono24 if you want to sell it privately. Jewellers will want to make a profit so that means they won't give you that much.
Question if your from the states is this the best time take a trip to Europe Rolex are always more over here
Excited for the lower value watch vid. Interested to see what you have gone for.
Can you do one on your Patek and your AP?
love the deep for how chunky it is,will never be able to afford any of them but love seeing them thx for showing
Watch collection video?
A welcome switch up in content here Tom. My shout for sub £200 watch....Seiko SKX007 👌
great choice, Seiko make some great divers watches. Especially the one you mention with the automatic movement.
Avoid the 'kinetic' crap, its just marketing for quartz!
I am actually looking at a Seiko right now for a workshop daily, since I'm gonna be getting my hands dirty on that M3!
I recon you bought a Seiko skx, loving these watch videos! Cars and watches are basically my biggest hobbies
Very, very nice, have hou got any Panerai?
I've always been into watches but never understood the way the market is like cars, with "flipping" watches etc. I've personally got a few Tissot MotoGP limited editions and have no idea what they're worth
i have the d-blue, my box looks the same. should it be different?
+Braddan Jackson box is too small!
ok cool, so standard rolex box but they gave you a smaller box by mistake? thanks mate!
TGE with the good advice vibes, keep up the great content mate!
Could u do a watch talk on your AP if you've got one
I agree. Other investable modern Rollies are:
116500ln daytona
116710blnr gmt
126600 sea-dweller
All of these are fetching premiums :)
Opinion on 18 carat rose gold daytona? And how much would you pay for one?
Cheers
Nice picks, sir! In which city did you buy those beauties?)

I'd like to know more about your opinion on Audemars Piguet at some point. Nice video

Stephen White upside down means you owe the difference. it will be added onto the new car you finance. if you make profit then pip pip cherrio
+thesmoothone So when tge for example keeps getting a new car every few months on finance he's just yielding a slight profit on the cars value then paying the 200k back etc then having maybe a 1k profit pocketed for himself?

The D-blue is 44mm not 43mm.
Tim Derl Yeah, I thought that. Piss poor research.
6yrs on.... how much now!!
Absolutely love the blue o
Good job TGE has diving watches , in case he misses one of his cars at the bottom of the sea.
