Just finished the installation with my father. Man if i could like this video twice, i would.. maybe even 10 times. Ran into no obstacles at all, everything where it should be, everything cane off where it’s supposed to. TIP: use a wire to run the cables through the tube thing and the seats. Its more sturdy then just tape the cables to the wire and pull it through. Total time it took, about two to three hours. Now were moving on to the center console portion. Thanks again!!
Great video, you inspired me to add a backup camera to my 2008 infiniti G35. Your instructions worked like a charm, I used a different camera ( mounted to license plate) no issues at all and my B/U camera works fine. Thanks again, next project will be the steering wheel and arm rest painting.
Do I HAVE to press the AUX button?! Is there not an automatic way around this? I would hate having to press a button every single time I'm backing up, running errands around town. Not to mention the wear and tear on the button.
Great video, lot of hard work saving all of us our first time issues and questions of how too. I attached my camera to my license plate bracket like bobf contibutor did so no drilling on the car.
One thing I'd add to this video is that removing the back seat on the driver side makes it much easier and all you have to do is remove two nuts at the bottom, pull the bottom a bit forward and pull the seat up.

I think it might or not.. due other switches on the board like FM , INFO, CD. But maybe if you can do tap directly to the main video input if it has one, it would be like OEM.

Followed instructions from both videos and everything worked perfectly (2007 G35x)...other than losing a couple of the chrome lip nuts inside the trunk lid.
The video is stopped when your parking brake is off. They don't want you driving and watching a movie thru the auxiliary thats why you parking brake and video is on

Yes it's a lot of Stuff for $10, I'll Give you that but people go to an information videos do they really want to watch 10 minutes of somebody ramping and raven about how great thow great the stuff in the Box is where they just want to learn how to install it but Hey great wholesale and of course why would they send you a whole saw that you don't need

Either your camera does not work or you did something wrong. Make sure you have power to the camera and your emergency brake is on. That's the only think I can think of. Keep trying maybe you missed something. Good luck!
@@JustVlads the view is it reversed like what is on your left it shows on the right and your right shows left. I just finished installation on mine its reversed
Ahtesamul Haque connecting it to the tail lights will be too much trouble unless you want the camera on all the time. You should just connect it to the reverse backup lights that way the camera will come on when you're in Reverse when you need it.
Under the trunk where you change your reverse light bulbs is where you can tap into 12 volt power at the plug. Normally the lighter wire of the plug is the positive and the darker is the negative. Hope that helps.
You can either go behind the plug and just stick the wires in or you need to splice into the wire. If you're not sure exactly how to connect wires just search for some TH-cam videos on how to splice a wire.
The coolest part of this solution is you can wire it such that the rear camera can be watched all the time. My G35 came with the rear camera, but it shuts off when the car is in drive. I always wanted to have the rear camera on so i can see if people are making funny faces at me.
Can you please say how you wired it so it is visible all the time? I suspect it has to do with connecting the red wire from the camera to the red wire on the yellow video wire, then connecting the other end to a 12V cigarette lighter port somehow? Would the black wire not matter as long as connected to the negative terminal for the rear light?

not that i know, but it might be possible with someone who knows where to tap in for a direct feed.

Solid job.. I would have bought the OEM chrome trunk opener timer with the hole.. you can find it for less than $35 and it's well worth it IMO

what about the RED WHITE YELLOW in the center console cant you plug camera in that and tap into rear reverse light and power when you put in reverse?

I spent $650 for GROM stereo just so I wouldn't have to solve the bypass problem. Also because I'd get Android Auto/ Carplay as well.

You just need a switch to kill speed sensor and connect parking brake wire.

It uses the 3rd plug that isn’t being used by the aux plug also you can get a splitter

Like how you tested your camera out before plugging it up fully. I did the same thing but when I tested my camera no video showed is what I meant.

Working great with no issues. Its defiantly worth doing, makes backing up easy.

I have a 09 G37 Sedan and it doesnt have a camera, want to see if maybe it has the AUX already in trunk?
How does the camera do in the dark? I have tinted windows and can’t see anything at night.
It does ok, not a high quality image but you can obviously still see what you need.
