  • Joey Ayala is a contemporary pop music artist in the Philippines. He is well known for his style of music that combines the sounds of Filipino ethnic instruments with modern pop music.
Joey's "Bagong Lumad" (literally "New Native") Band also inspired the creation of the Bagong Lumad Artists Foundation, Inc. (www.blafi.org), a UNDP Responsible Party working on SiningBayan (Social Artistry) capacity-building projects with the Civil Service Commission, the Department of Education, and other NGOs in the Philippines.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

a few genius are happy go lucky guys. .some are internal. .dead serious. .while others are weird, laughing alone by themselves. .joey ayala is on the external side. .he just keep his genius inside of him while walking normal on the streets. .lastly i adore his original composition "agila". .very deep ang social message. .

Joey Ayala, the "Eagle" of the Music Industry! the genius, musical, spiritual, humanist, and the funny-serious man Joey is a very nice man to listen to, either he delivers a speech or renders music. .

    Being a native isn't self-made. It's your self-identity which makes one a native.

WOW - I am glad that I browsed U-tube for more of J-Ayala. Very inspiring background, true Filipino pride, that we all can vicariously brag about. Music is eclectic in a sense that it came from all of his favorites rockers, and educated parents. Go Bukidnon! Here's Tagalog salute to you and all Mindanawans :)

My kuya is a fanatic of Joey Ayala. He is with our creator but he engrained in my childhood the songs of Joey Ayala. I remember his tapes played in our casette. Walang hanggang paalam is my favorite!

Glad I came across your video. I don't know you but listening to your story and learning that you can play various types of musical instruments some of which were used by Philippine natives or indigenous folks, I now genuinely admire you and your amazing talents. You are truly a gem and a natural gift for all Filipinos to nurture and treasure. Though I now live in the U.S., I grew up in the Philippines and all I can say is: Maraming maraming salamat for sharing sa aming lahat ang buhay mo at talento sa musica. Hope the younger generation will learn from this and emulate you. Wishing you all the best and continued success. Take care and always stay safe, healthy and be well. 👍🙏🎵😍
