I've just picked up my markers after a fairly long hiatus, this video has helped me pick up where I left off. Learned something new too, I was never able to get blush right.
Great video! Once again your voice is very easy to listen to and stay attentive! It’s hard for someone who is blessed with ADD since birth to pay attention to anything especially reading! I’m truly a visual learner and your videos and voice are excellent!
Is there anyway to use alcohol markers with a lighter touch? Another words, the markers I have are huge bold bright colors, is it possible to tone these colors down if they’re too strong or I have to buy a different set of lighter colors?
The only way I could think to lighten a color is to use a colorless blender, but typically I find myself layering markers enough where it actually makes the color darker. The best way to get a significantly lighter color is to, unfortunately, purchase a marker that is already light.
I think it would be more helpful if you labeled the colors you used as what they correspond with (i.e. showing the reference number to the color and labeling it as base, base blush, light blush, shadow etc) I just think that would make it easier to follow along and helpful for those who use the same markers as you.
You could add light freckles with colored pencils - it would give it a softer feel. The natural "spotting" from alcohol markers are because I layered the markers a lot. Hope this helps! :)
Thank you! By brush pens, is there a specific type in mind? I used the Arteza alcohol markers in this video which are chisel & fine tipped, but using alcohol brush pens for this technique would be much easier! Let me know what brush pens you're describing and I will see what I can do!

Those brush pens are water based, so these methods wouldn't work with those, but I did release a "How to Blend with Watercolor Brush Pens" that includes some tips that would apply to those markers. I'll still look into these types of pens and see if I can create a tutorial video for those!

You could add light freckles with colored pencils - it would give it a softer feel. The natural "spotting" from alcohol markers are because I layered the markers a lot. Hope this helps! :)
Is shuttle art the same as the one your are use I get in the video ?
In this video, I'm using the Arteza Everblend Skin Tone set, however, these tips will work with any alcohol based marker set/brand!
