- Our latest video on Bilt Hamber Auto Foam outlines the Easiest way to calculate PIR - Panel Impact Ratio. This is not to be mixed up with dilution ratio or mix ratio. If using a foam pump sprayer, there is no added pressure washer water coming in so treat the sprayer like you would a trigger bottle and calculate 4% of the total contents of the bottle. This video will give you the best snow foam guide and results from your car snow foam.

Great video , really easy to follow and understand 5 stars. Poor astras though 😂
The astras were talking when they should have been listening 😂😂 thanks George!

Great one. Actuallyu the only video tham I undertsoon how RIP is calculated and more, the diference between dilution ratio to RIP. Really the best one.
I've watched umpteen of these videos over the last few years and irrespective of the power washer and lance combinations and as near as damn it 100ml diluted to 1 litre is 1%..... So if you need 4% your calculations possibly going to be in the range of 380-420mls diluted to 1 litre so 400mls is going to be as near makes no difference as nobody is going to measure out exactly 368 mls .... If you find it's a bit weak just a tad more and if you feel its to much cut it back the next time
Great video. Nice work and valuable information.
Great video. Thanks. I understand my results will be different, but can you confirm that you top up the 364 to 1ltr with water and away you go?
Correct Clive, thanks for the message 👌
I am a little bit confused… technically in the can you need to have diluted product… are you adding water on top of your pure bilt and hamber from the can?
Superb… good lad , makes sense 👍🏼👍🏼
Very good explanation, but still can not understand why Bilt Hamber claims to use PIR and others (e.g. MagiFoam) gives exactly how much inch/ml I should use pre bottle...
So in order to get the best out of a foam, you need to have the balance right from what the panel receives rather than what goes into the bottle. There are so many variables between what canon you use, combined with what pressure washer you use (different power/ litre per min outputs etc). 100ml in an mtm compared to mjjc could be different as the internals may be different. This coupled with a pressure washer that puts out 6 ltr or 9 ltr, there are too many different results. So if you work with what you want to achieve on the panel, you work it out to get the perfect combination for the hardware types you are using and you'll get the same result of the foam each time. Hope this explains 🤷♂️
Great video does the dial on the snow foam lance need to be adjusted to the plus + all the way or does it not matter, just subscribed on your channel
So this lance I like as there is 5 settings so put it for how you want your foam to come out and measure accordingly. For likes of mjjc, as hard to get exact everything, just go full plus and work put calculations from there
First video I have seen and you produce a calculator - How retro.... Looking forward to viewing your other tubes..
Ha ha, nothing like a bit of old school!!
Excellent - Most helpful - Many thanks.
No probs, thanks mate 👌🏻
Brilliant explanation, thanks
Glad you enjoyed, thank you 🙌
I've a K5 with a Karcher snow hose connection. I can barely make the whole cae before its empty
Such a pain man, the longer hose is a real benefit!
@@GoodLuggageAutomotiveDetailing ???
Was the foam cannon empty?
How can you tell when the water has been removed from the foam bottle when it power washer is connected ?
You can start hearing a hissing noise when it's empty as the canon is trying to draw liquid from the bottle, so when it doesn't, that's when you know it's empty 👍
How much product was in the foamer before testing how much liters you got?
You just use water for the test
Thank you great 👍 video .
Just a note, 4% if for "touchless cleaning", for regular wash with a mitt you can use 1%.
Another great video and explanation. Keep em up Paddy 💪🏻
Thanks Graham!
Please tell me those vehicles were damaged during trainning.
Of course 😂👌🏻
I'm using an IK Foam Pro 12 Sprayer with Bilt Hamber Touchless. How much ml do I use for the water and the snow foam?
My understanding is, since the foam sprayer is a closed system, 5% PIR is equal to 1:20 dilution ratio. OTOH, Foam cannons get additional water from the hose that require the water output calculations. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@bizzobox I put in approx 300ml of BH with 400ml of water and filled up the rest with air. I was shocked after using it twice on 3 cars as to how much was still left. I reckon enough to pre-wash twice another 20 cars. Next time I'm definitely reducing the amount of BH, maybe up to 50ml.
@@Mr_ZeroFuelI’m also looking for dilution ratio for the ik foamer. Did you fine tune the measurements?
@@underscoreroa To be honest, it's trial and error. I've never found the exact measurement. I usually put in 10ml foam and water to the maximum level, keep in mind to leave space for the air. I've found that 10ml produces super thick foam, but that could be down to Meguiars. I didn't have much success with Bilt Hamber and stopped using it.
@@Mr_ZeroFuel no success with BH in terms of dirt removing action? Also, are you using BH new Touch-Less formula? The one currently for sale on their www
If bh auto foam does that to your cars behind you I'm not using it anymore!!!! No way!!!! 😂
🤣🤣🤣
@@GoodLuggageAutomotiveDetailing LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
makes sense, thanks!
Lol what about different pressure washers ie litres per minute output I've got a kranzle 1152 tst to get 4 to 5% p i r i use 50/50 in the m j j c foam cannon up to 1 litre plus you'll obviously need more product if car is bigger ie s u v 4 x 4 its not that far off therefore i use 500 ml bilt hamber auto foam or touch less to 500 ml warm water does my 4 x 4 👍
You'll need to test for your set up mate as all setups are different, from Lance's, hoses and lengths, pressure washer, make of stubby etc, all different so to get the best results, you need to do the test first 👍
With foamer 1L size means need around 170ml , can somebody please explain how much I need when using Ik 2L foamer ?
1ltr former would need 20ml for 2% or 40ml for 4%. On a 2ltr former, you would need 40ml for 2% and 80ml for 4%. Then fill up to the litre/ 2ltr mark with water respectively 👌
@@GoodLuggageAutomotiveDetailing Thank You 🙏
@@GoodLuggageAutomotiveDetailing Thank you for your great video. Very useful. To be more precise, this dilution ratio (80 mL for 2 L of waters for example) is not completey correct if we consider that the maximum volume of the pump sprayer (2 L for example) must not be exceeded (otherwise the pressure is too low) : in this example, the correct ratio, to achieve a total solution of 2 L, is 77 mL of BH with 1923 mL of water.
@@gregorytimmermans6984 if you can measure out 77ml instead of 80ml, I'd give you a pat on the back!!! I honestly would not be looking into the minute calculations that much, just general 👌
No expert here, but.....IK and other foamers are much easier!!! You can treat them as a regular dilution since the volume is fixed; so if you fill one up to, say, to 2L of water and (painfully) spray that into a bucket, you should get 2L..
The third ingredient is more water, not air.
Easiest way is ask a serious detailer what kit and foam he uses and copy him... What a palaver
What a carry on just to put some prewash on a car all that maths & tech so rediculus
You ever baked a cake? All them instructions, weighing and putting them ingredients in at different stages, sure just launch them all in together and cook it.... same principle. In order to get best results, do as manufacturer recommends, this just explains in a bit more detail 😉
