He did not cover the most important point - MMDR act. Mines and minerals (development and regulations) act 1957 had no provision to share benefit to the state and its people, so from 1957 to 2015 (68 years from independence Odisha didn't get a penny, only got plundered for steel and minerals for free). Now in 2015 amendment has provision to share the benefits with the communities. So things have started improving drastically.
I'm from khariar which lies in western part of odisha, the desparity you are talking about is 💯% accurate. U people can't even imagine the beauty of western odisha. It has a tremendous potential to attract tourists around the world.if goverment will focus on developing the tourist places of these areas the day is not far that everyone will get to know about the beauty of western odisha.

Finally, we have a video explaining the reality with facts. Really appreciate it. I still remember from my childhood. As a western Odisha resident we had to even fight and rebel to get a high court bench. I really appreciate our CM but the regional disparity is real and the problems are not just economical but also social, political and linguistic.

How is even Cuttack developed? They are doing underground drainage work from last 12 years. And it’s not yet complete. Wish I could explain you how much dusty has Cuttack become. Some transformation of Cuttack happened only after BJD lost an MLA seat here in 2019.
Indeed, as you mentioned, the disparity in development across various regions of Odisha is quite evident. I am from Bargarh district, near Sambalpur, and it is a widely acknowledged fact that the people of western Odisha have been neglected for a significant period of time.
I am from Koraput, Southern part of Odisha, what you are saying is absolutely correct. Specially Undivided Koraput, Kalahandi and Bolangir are the most underdeveloped districts in Odisha, govt. continuosly neglects us. These districts are highly capable to attract tourists and also Koraput, Rayagada are very mineral rich districts. If govt takes correct steps then these districts can change total Odisha.

Odisha Government majorly focuses on Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. South and Western Odisha have always been deprived of basic facilities like Health and Education and even basic public infrastructure, all the major indices show this trend. I personally belong to the western Odisha and the disparity is absolutely real and remarkable.Over the years the BJD gov. Only used this region for vote bank politics and resources exploitation and little developmental activities were made. Poor health care infrastructure, neglected Educational Institutions and diverting all major and important institutions and facilities to Khordha ,Ganjam ,Cuttack and other eastern districts.

Usually in most big states, there are High Court Benches which are established in order to reduce the pressure created by a huge number of civil and criminal cases filed in the High Courts located in state capitals. In your neighbouring West Bengal, there is the Jalpaiguri Bench of the Calcutta High Court precisely to solve the aforesaid problem.

First of all, Thank you for making such a incredible video about odisha and its problems. It's true that the government of odisha focusing only in the Eastern side as well as it develops very well. But when it comes to western odisha there are no any type of special or measure effort for development in this area. That's why we need a special State to bring the development in our area.
Because most of the budget is invested to develop Bhubaneswar,puri and Cuttack....and people think Bhubaneswar is odisha saddest part is that even if our CM do the things by thinking that puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack is the hole odisha

I come from Koraput dist.. My area is a very neglected area by Govt of Odisha. In western part of Odisha atleast they are raising voice for their development but in my area most people are illiterate and no one is talking about my area.
The whole undivided Koraput region(Koraput, Malkangiri, Raygada, Nabarangapur) is very underdeveloped.
We are living in the most illleterate dist of Odisha. But we have to compete with coastal odisha students who have far better education facilities than us. We.. the unreserved category students of undivided Koraput have completed studies with SC&ST friends means we have the same knowledge as an SC&ST student but will compete with coastal odisha where educational facilities are very good that even an SC ST student of coastal odisha have much more knowledge and facility than us (undivided koraput student).

I m from kendujhar district of odisha and I feel the same.. As kendujhar is rich in iron mines still we didn't get the benefit or the development what we really deserve... No one talk about kendujhar.. So much poverty, unemployment seen in kendujhar... Other district of odisha should be prioritised.. Regional disparities should be discouraged. Another main reason it's hard to develop areas with tribal dominance development costs land and forests. I still remember a lot pf power plants projects were shifted from odisha to Gujrat because it was really hard to acquire land permits and protests from locals. And not to mention excess distribution of unnecessary freebies. Not only it's the fault of state govt it's also the fault of us the citizen of state.

Yes being an odia I would say your research and analysis is perfect on Odisha State. The discrimination and disparity is a major concern of every state not only Odisha. The elected MP and MLA of the disparity regions of Odisha are completely responsible for this negligence. They are forgetting the basic issues of their regions post elections and never raise issues in State Assembly and Parliament as well. Issues can be resolved by goverment and administration not by locals. Odisha has plenty of potential but unfortunately it's neglected by both central and state government.
Another Most Disparity is on Health Infrastructure 😢. Mostly we (western Odisha people) are suffering. Only Bhubaneswar & Cuttak have 95% of Health infra.

Majority of costal people go to SCB Cuttack and situation was pathetic in that hospital . Hope it improved now.
Just yesterday we drove back from trip to Odisha. Undoubtedly it has natural resources, coastal & dense forest with culturally rich and vivid heritage.
But there is stark difference between rich and poor. Infrastructure is under quality. You can clearly see two things while roaming through Odisha
1. It's CM poster on every tree and pole
2. IVF Fertility clinic boards
Improvement is seriously needed

We have dolomite, bauxite, copper, lead, iron, lead, coal, china clay, fire clay, ranging from 30-100℅ total reserves of Odisha in Western Odisha, but our region do not get any revenue share rather we get overbridge project that takes decades to complete by East Odisha's contractors. Our jungle resources are being looted and there is corruption everywhere. It has been roughly 80 years since 1936 reorganisation of Odisha still the KBK region is the most underdeveloped maybe in the whole world with more than 60℅ poverty. Our language Sambalpuri is treated like some kinda uncultured langauge at the cost of promoting Odia in Western Odisha. We are forced to speak Odia even if we do not want to by imposing odia in our school. In Govt. jobs without Odia you can not any post, it is compulsory. Our artist like Haldhar Nag are also neglected. You just go to, Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack and then come to Sambalpur, you would know the stark difference.
Communal hatred for Eastern Odisha people is at peak😂😂😂. Whether its odisha or koshal or another State everyone belongs to country India. So according to your logic the marwadi in your area who have dominance in business should be go back to their states. No otber states people should go and work in other areas.

After the year 2000, all the coastal states developed but it has been 20 years since it became a coastal state. Which state is the most backward? And imagine what kind of development has taken place.
They did not cover the most important point - MMDR act. Mines and minerals (development and regulations) act 1957 had no provision to share benefit to the state and its people, so from 1957 to 2015 (68 years from independence Odisha didn't get a penny, only got plundered for steel and minerals for free). Now in 2015 amendment has provision to share the benefits with the communities. So things have started improving drastically.
Also WB is the most backward coastal state not Odisha.
Demanding KOSAL from ODISHA is likely demanding PERSIA from INDIA.

As a youth from kalahandi district I can clearly see the partiality of our state government which only focuses on costal belt of odisha and neglect our region.
