“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel. “

I am convinced regine Velasquez is not human!!even now in 2020 her voice is better than ever. I saw her live here in new Zealand in 2019.. she literally blew the roof off the auditorium. I feel for this one she really channels Barbaras style, the vibrato , tone , vowel sounds, normally her vibrato is not this narrow and her tone is different. Regardless it's amazing!

Shes a seasoned singer. Before Morissette, Katrina, Jona, all filipino power belters after her time, she's the inspiration. Looked up to. She once said, and im paraphrasing here, "Real singers doesn't lip sync" thats probably why all professional singers in the Philippines always performs live. No cheating, no shortcuts. Has to be authentic and real.

Ms. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid ( 47 ) burst into the International scene when she won the Asia-Pacific Song Contest in 1989 representing the Philippines at age 19. Since then she has been an icon in the entertainment industry in the PH as a singer/actress/music producer. She is affectionately called by people as Asia's Songbird for her impeccable singing prowess. She can definitely match the best singers back in the 80's, 90's such as Whitney & Mariah, of course without the benefit of videos, and You Tube back then, we really cannot appreciate her unfounded talent until now. Today she is the ultimate idol of all female singers in the PH, such as Morissette Amon, Sarah Geronimo to name a couple of icons now.

Thank You so much Ms. Rebecca for this reaction. She was the first ever Filipino singer/artist to appear on music scene and started those high, powerful long note belting before some of those young ladies you've reacted then. She sets the standard so high that every song she sang will never be sung by another artist. And she can still hit those powerful notes and belts even today in her 40's. Morisette, Katrina and many young aspiring singer we have today in the philippines were looking up to her as their idol, inspiration and mentor. She paved so much way to a lot of our younger singer today in the philippines. She's very humble, kind and very generous too.
She had a 30th year in the business concert last year. Morisette and all the young singers were there. Pls react to it thanks!

Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez born April 22, 1970) is a Filipino singer, actress and record producer. She gained recognition by winning both the 1984 Ang Bagong Kampeon and the 1989 Asia-Pacific Song Contest, representing the Philippines in the latter. Velasquez rose to fame with the release of "Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang" from her self-titled debut album in 1987. The album was generally well received and produced two more singles, "Urong Sulong" and "Isang Lahi", that established her as a commercially viable Filipino pop artist.
Velasquez signed a recording contract with Polygram Records in 1994 and released Listen Without Prejudice, marking her debut as an up-and-coming artist in the Southeast and East Asian region. It became her best-selling record in the region to date and produced "In Love With You", which became her most successful single of the 1990s. Its accompanying music video was named Video of the Decade by MTV Asia. Velasquez parted with Polygram in 1997, citing a lack of creative control over her music and public image, and signed a record deal with VIVA Records the following year. She was given full conceptual and creative control as the executive producer of R2K (1999). Hi Rebecca. Lovely reaction as always. Just a trivia though, when she was 19 she was invited by the producers of Miss Saigon to train in London. She refused to take it as she realized she was young and to live alone away from family. Later in her career she said that she didnt really see herself a cut in musicals or theatres as she really sees herself a Pop singer. But born as a vocal virtuoso, she was given the oppotunity to do concerts in musical reportoire. She is Philippines Best Selling artist of all time. Praised superlatively accross the world. As a matter of fact, Michel Legrand the broadway legend and Streisands very good friend, quoted "But to sing with Regine, its like I'm in the heavens. Barbra is my favorite singer but now I have two." The Tony and Grammy award winning songwriter flew to the Philippines to kiss Regines hand and collaborated with her in a 3 night concert. So yeah its hard to put all Regine's accolades in one writing as they are too many. But we appreciate vocal coaches who appreciates and acknowledges the heights that Regine's vocals can reach. After all she would not be called Asia's Songbird for nothing. :)

A treat for Broadway lovers, this one is from her joint concert with Martin Nieverra. She has a headache here and had to be rushed to the hospital right after because she almost passed out from the pain. This performance shows her vocal technique - controlled vibrato and breathing control - which lends an amazing sound to the listeners.

You can hear the raspy tone more evidently because of her acid reflux and the deepness and maturity she has gained throughout the years.
