Hi Taylor, I am in Penang for the first time as we speak. I have 7 days here and then on to Kuala Lumpur for 7 days. This is my fist time to Malaysia and I am really enjoying it. Thanks to all of your helpful videos.
Thanks Andy, great suggestions and very much what I would recommend. I also used to find Malaysia one of the easier places Asia to drive and to rent a car and some of my fondest memories were driving around Malaysia, and if you concur, I might suggest Cameron Highlands for those who might want to take a bit of a road trip out of Penang and cool-off for a day or two. Do Hope I can see you there sometime. Cheers!
@@keangwooichoo6138 Thanks, I'll have to watch that one. I recall bad accommodations in Tana Rata as well, but I used to enjoy it for getting out of Georgetown. Years ago we had a nice stay in an old English colonial home owned by some Catholic Indians from Goa and the U.K. and it was much better than a hotel stay, and they told me about home for sale that seemed a pretty good deal, and seriously considered buying. There's a small airstrip not too far from Tana Rata I rented a Cessna 172 in Penang and flew into once, and having home in CH and being able to fly to GT in a few mins rather than hours would have a nice way to go.
Another fantastic video. From watching your YT channel I have got out and about in Malaysia. Took me 3 visits to do it, The train to Penang the bus to Malacca, I would never have done this before. Airfare from KL to Langkawi can be as low as $20AUD and can do a day trip if you have the energy. Penang has so much to offer I am amazed now things are open again. Back in KL in January and looking forward to more of the places outside KLCC. As everywhere the prices have increased but its now or never for me just going to enjoy life before I get sent off to nursing home. Great work! again.
Hi Taylor, Ive been watching alot of your vids and appreciate all the info. I'm moving to KL for 2 years for work and very much looking forward to it 😊
Thank you for your tips! I was invited to go for a couple of weeks however, the air tickets are crazy expensive! But I would definitely want to have a look.
If you are in East coast of Peninsular, Beside Kuantan, you also should visit Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu for their delicious foods & amazing culture show like dikir barat, mak yong, menora, kites and gasing competitions. East coast is also getaways to the best island like Redang, Kapas Lang Tengah, Perhentian and Bidong Island.
Have you been to the roof top bar (and pool) at the Pacific Regency? My wife was the manager of the fitness center, spa and pool. This was some years back. I want to return to Malaysia but my wife wants to stay in Orlando, Florida. Go figure...
I love Penang! The Batu Ferringhi hawkers are the best. The food there is so good. We've stayed at the E&O and Campbell house. If you don't want to fly into KL(because no direct flights from the US) go to Singapore and take the bus and stop in JB, Malacca, KL, and Penang. Then fly back to Singapore from Penang. Timekettle is a funny name, but the tech seems futuristic. Like in scifi movies where they have to turn on their translation devices.
I noticed you mentioned Penang, K.L & Lagkawi. How is Sarawak? Better to just visit or also a good place to settle down in? I like the earbuds with multiple translation options.👍
nice vid Taylor....hey can you tell me if as an American.. have visa requirements changed...I was in KL during the summer for a health check up and I did not need a visa...a visa agency now wants me to give them a bank statement copies of my ticket in advance for a 30 day stay. What's up ???? IF TRUE THIS IS A TURN OFF. thx friend.
Hello, Which 4 Star Hotel would you recommend in KLCC area? If the Hotel is within walking distance of Metro/Train station that would be a bonus. Thanks!
I am wondering where foreigners plan to be buried when they pass away, Malaysia or back to home country? If Malaysia, where and how? Sorry I am not trying to be rude but I think its one aspect I havent seen people talking about online.
Taylor, how do you pay taxes? I'm assuming you must file a US tax return, but how are you seen in Malaysia? I'm assuming that living there full-time you are a tax resident. Maybe Malaysia doesn't tax overseas income?
all the hotels you mentioned look quite boojie - I wouldn't like to stay there. can you recommend decent hotels for common people at budget price? and street cuisine
I try to stay in places at least as nice as my home when I travel. Sometimes they had good rates. The Hompton in Penang is only about rm 240 per night.

He went with one of his sisters this year to CH. Due to bad accommodation, thumbs down for them.

Sarawak is lovely. I could live there but it’s a much slower lifestyle.

I don’t think this is true. There is some new online thing you need to fill out three days before arrival but nothing like that.
Hello, Which 4 Star Hotel would you recommend in KLCC area? If the Hotel is within walking distance of Metro/Train station that would be a bonus. Thanks!
I’ve only stayed at Trader’s Hotel. Great location but anything in KLCC area would be fine. 😊
Nice
Taylor, do you study Bahasa? I've heard its relatively easy to learn. It's same as in Indonesia, rite?
Everyone says it’s easy!! Trust me - it’s not. Russian is easier 🤣
Yeah Lauren, I don’t think it’s easy either 😂
Bahasa Malaysia and Indonesia language not 100% same. They are same word with different meaning.

The Hompton is quite alright. Not so expensive. Many locals also stay there.

Nothing 😂😂😂
