    Thanks for the podcast guys……. I know it’s hard to not have anything significant to talk about but the fan base is definitely hungry…..for anything!

    That's the way the Braves front office operates. You generally don't hear about a deal until it's finalized

    To be fair, how many players over the past handful of years have been reported on who actually were signed by or traded to the Braves?

    The statement of "they're printing money", and that's not the first time I've heard that, while somewhat true, they also have a ton of debt to pay. Currently the Braves debt stands at $640mil as of September 30th, and that's up $85mil over last September 30th 2023 when their total debt stood at $555mil. So the notion that the Braves have all this money to spend, just isn't completely true, not till they pay down their massive debt.

      How did their debt go up when they generated over 500mil in revenue?

    • @MassBoost
      @MassBoost 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@chadwhitfield6946 Likely mostly due to construction costs. They projected to spend in the neighborhood of $200mil for the new Truist Securities Headquarters they're just getting done building next to the stadium behind home plate. I know they're spending $10mil in in-stadium renovations and upgrades, plus another X amount to build that 'Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Park' that's being now built between the 3rd base and left field gates just outside the stadium. There could be other money being spent perhaps, in preparation to the All-Star game, but I'm not sure?

      @@chadwhitfield6946then apparently their operating expenses were $585 million. Revenue isn’t profit. I don’t mind how they’re operating because it’s more affordable to attend a Braves game than those teams paying the huge salaries. (Yankees, Mets, Dodgers etc.)

      They’re (still) printing money :)

    • @MassBoost
      @MassBoost 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@HammerTerritory While I don't completely disagree with that statement at all, but it's being made to sound as though they actually have a ton of money to spend, and that's furthest from the truth. Because many people don't realize how much they are in debt, and probably going further into debt yet with all the stadium upgrades and additions they are doing this off-season. It almost gives people false hope that they have money to spend now, but aren't doing so, because the uninformed think "they're a corporation that only cares about profits" which is what I hear about all the time, and that completely untrue, you know?

    I agree that Braves fans wants a major move to speak about but we still have to give AA time. Just because Alex hasn’t been able to strike a big time signing as of yet doesn’t mean he won’t come up with something before the offseason is over. As you mentioned Stephen, this off-season has started pretty hot with other teams making big signings and while Alex typically lands a big deal early on, this year is going just a little bit different but I do believe he is still diligently working towards finding ways to improve the team before next season. I would just continue to stress patience and waiting until the off-season is over before making a full assessment on the changes that have been made. I’m still giving AA the benefit of the doubt and I believe he’ll make at least one move before this offseason is complete that is a noteworthy upgrade. Enjoyed the content and keep up the great work, guys.

      I believe you're exactly right. We need to trust the process and have faith that AA will do whatever is best for the Braves. We already have one of the top teams in baseball as we stand right now.

    It does to me because the flat of matter is businesses don’t care about corporate businesses don’t care about what you and I think they care about the bottom line that’s it I care about how can they make the most money and if they think they didn’t make the money last year because of what happened and the disappointing early exit again and all that they could say you know what let’s just cut payroll this year. We’re not gonna get the big contracts and let’s just wait out the next year and let’s reset everything and then we’ll go from there and you might see one or two monitor deals come around where they add an extra five or six maybe $10 million extra on the payroll but it’s looking more more like this is what we’re gonna see next year they’re just gonna give the young kids an opportunity to see if any him can pitch himself in the summer rotation maybe another bullpen piece to help out a little bit there, but it is looking like what we’re gonna have for the season the problem is this team. The way constructed is not winning any World Series. They’re not gonna win the division and chances are they may not make the playoffs and that is very sad on the circumstances.

      We will be just fine and yes the Braves will make the playoffs plus we'll probably win the division as well. I see your point but respectively disagree. GO BRAVES 2025

      Anyone that thinks they make all this money and are not in debt, I'm going to say are ignorant to the fact. As a publicly traded company, they post their financials quarterly, and as of the end of the 3rd quarter, September 30th, they are $640mil in debt. So it's hard to claim they don't care, when it fact they've got other obligations that must be met, and one of those is paying back the financial institution they loaned money from. I don't think you'd happily loan money to people without expecting to be paid back? Not only that, they have many other obligations that they have to take care of as well, one of which they mentioned on the show in all of the construction at the stadium, which they stated is around $10mil, on top of that, they are also building the 'Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Park" which is more than a 30,000 square-feet of space dedicated to all the kids/fans which is suppose to be a safe and fun experience for kids, that is being built between the 3rd base and left field gate entrances. So while they have money, all of it can't just be spent on the team exclusively.

      @ look all companies are in business to make money. That’s a fact corporations are no different. The fact of man is if you it takes money to make money in this world and the company is obviously proven to this point this year they’re pulling back when you’re letting your best player, your star players go and go into the play for other teams, and not truly putting your full efforts out there and not showing your fan base that you’re going to do whatever it takes to win and by keeping the players that have been loyal to you and showing me that they care they want to be part of the product and you let them consistently walk out the doorthat’s not showing loyalty that’s showing the bottom line as much as I wanna make comments about the Dodgers and the Mets in order or other organizations like that they’re willing to show their fan bases that they’re willing to win, and they show their loyalty to the players by resigning them given them the money that the players need and once so they can be happy and this ownership group has only really scratch the surface so it’s definitely looks like they’re looking like they’re looking to reset things because they don’t wanna put that go on the tax anymore now I understand you’re worried about players getting hurt but that’s just part of any business especially sports. You have to take risks and let people like Freddie Freeman go when he clearly wanted to come back to Atlanta and stay with Atlanta and you let them walk for basically a few million dollars more than what the Dodgers gave him less was ridiculous and now you let your your best picture I will be honest. He’s the best consistent picture you had and don’t bring up strider be hurt. Don’t bring up sale because he has history of injuries is major. He was part of the core of the team the heart of the team and you let him walk and did not do everything you could to keep him and those are the only two examples I can show you many examples of letting people go that they should’ve kept the other organizations find a way to make keep they wanna play the Atlanta Braves as a middle of the pack, economic organization, and the fact that matters they are top five Khanom comes to fan base and everything the dress because the fan base the brace fan base because of the years and decades and decades on TBS broadcasting goes all over the country. there’s very few manly baseball fan base as big as the Atlanta Braves the Yankees yes the Red Sox some decor. Yes, the Cubs yes the Cardinals and the Dodgers not many other fan fan bases can say there as big as the Braves organization because the reach of the fact the praises were on TV as broadcast for so many years and I don’t understand organizations when if they can just go out there and build and continue give their base the opportunity win World Series you’re going to make handover for the money that’s worth it 10 times much money they would lose by spending upfront and I made this point before the chances are Iglesias is out the door after the show they’re not gonna sign up chances are they’re not gonna resign Ozuna you could’ve use that access money worked on a deal where you deferred some of that money to keep freed for one for one year gave them an out if you wanted to be out of the three years and for some of the money on the back to make up the difference this year to keep free they didn’t do it it’s just it’s my ball going to me how people don’t want to see this if they want to reset that’s fine, but tell us don’t tell. Don’t tell the fanbase that you’re willing to do whatever it takes to win and then turn around and let your best players walk out the door and not do everything. Your power to keep Them

      @@chrishutchens5167 Dodgers reset their luxury tax in 2020 and tried to do it again in 2023 before MLB ruined their plans as they made the Dodgers pay all of Trevor Bauer's back pay, thus putting them just over the tax. Yankees, Phillies, and Mets reset in 2021, Padres reset their luxury tax this year by dumping Soto to the Yankees. All the top teams have tried to reset the luxury tax, so it makes sense the Braves would try to too. Don't go thinking they're special, because they are not. If they were making all this money, then why do they have so much debt? You can't answer that, because you pay no attention to their financials, and have no clue about them. Alex Anthopoulos has never once stated they're "willing to do whatever it takes to win" please find me the source of that quote. You're making up things, you have no clue as to their financials, and frankly you're over-blowing things out of proportion. The Braves are still one of the favorites to win the World Series, with the 2nd or 3 best odds by almost every single betting house/site out there, and if they have to reset the luxury tax for 1 single year, then so be it, because they don't have limitless funds, and every team does it.
