Xylophone is Jacob Scesney, good friend to Haley & Casey Abrams, his main instrument is the saxophone although he’s proficient in multiple reed instruments. Jacob graduated from the same school as Casey, Idyllwild arts in CA. I saw him for the first time at 19 when he performed at Citywalk in LA with Haley & Casey. Jacob is also a main reason why Haley & Casey joined PMJ. Jacob joined PMJ when Scott moved from east to west coast, introduced Casey to Scott when they were playing a residency in LA. Shortly after that Scott was introduced to Haley. In fact, the ten year anniversary of Haley & Casey meeting Scott is coming up, it happened ten years ago either in December or January, more likely December ✌🏻
Not "almost". (I know, I know, it's a qualifier to avoid sounding absolutist, but really, name her peers in the main stream, in terms of having a massive vocal toolbox? Maybe Ariana Grande? Adele? I really can't come up with someone definitively more agile and tasteful than Haley. I think you're right, minus the "almost"...)
@@3rdOption-l9t Yeah, you mentioned the top two that come to mind (I would maybe add Bruno Mars). The fact there is a list of 2/3 competitors means there is a discussion to be had justifies the inclusion of "almost". I would be team Hayley but no doubt Ariana and Adele fans would disagree. Maybe it would have been more accurate to write "arguably better than any main stream…"
@@StevenScotland81-ur1et But what is a YooToob comment without absolute declarations of hyperbole, and a dollop of sarcasm? "2/3 competitors" - I agree. Each of our listed competitors is two thirds of Haley, in terms of her insane vocal manipulations executed in a consistently tasteful fashion. 😉🧮
@@RelUnrelatedWhen Haley sings Don’t Speak live, she actually sings some of “You Don’t Own Me” during the interlude th-cam.com/video/otlDf6pvBN8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=O6yz54WVq2ty4ZIa
Haley's sultry moves ALWAYS reminds me of Jessica Rabbit, the cartoon character from the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" One of Jessica's most quoted lines is "I'm not sexy, I'm just drawn that way." 😀

another great reaction and analysis a-aron. note that this extraordinary cover came out on the 25th anniversary of the original no doubt release. it had been well over 5 years since postmodern jukebox and haley had done a video collaboration together and more than met the high anticipation. during that time frame haley went back to her solo career and released 3 albums while the popularity of youtube's pmj (especially those with haley) had exploded. you may also want to consider her stunning platinum award winning cover of "can't help falling in love" for extra here: (th-cam.com/video/_uNpEbt7w_o/w-d-xo.html ) . she touches the soul like no other and is easily one of the best vocalist of our time 😎
Haley is always welcome over here while I'm waiting for RAYE, just as RAYE is welcome while I'm waiting for Haley... AJ is always welcome! ;om Laferte would be extremely welcome as well! More Ren anytime...Peace and love from Bavaria :)
Since you are into Haley's vocal prowess - and I mean that in the best way possible - I checked your list of reactions and thought I should mention the following performance - apparently this will be a blind reaction (to the most reacted to video on YTube according to the metrics), which their fans enjoy watching (meaning they'll show up to support it). Don't want to give away too much, but I will say - it's live, the performance is #13 of 15 on the set list in front of 82,000. Now if you fear this is some random person shooting with their phone, this entire concert was professionally taped and marketed on Blue-ray. This copy is from the band's website - no copyright issues, the performance is broken into about 6 obvious sections, and is not jazz. Also I'm not suggesting that one try and compare Haley and this vocalist - different genres, different tonal qualities, just different, but what I think you'll appreciate is the quality of the vocalist. (Haley has been my favorite vocalist of the 21st Century which is related to how her tonal quality massages my brain - love her. There is no best in music (or art) it's only subjective to the person listening.) If you react they will come. th-cam.com/video/47e_961OQWE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=M8QLiuKoukVpGDUw

Fabulous vocals and performance accompanied by a knowledgeable analysis is a win win . Thank you.
Hayley plays with vocals better than almost any main stream artist. So enjoyable

She has the tools and knows how and when to use them.

The musical interlude in the middle of the song was "You don't Own Me," by 60's icon,Leslie Gore.
Also appears at the end.
Did you catch that little homage to Lesley Gore's "You Don't Own Me" in the middle? Scott Bradlee does such amazing orchestrations.
No sorry, don't know it
@A-AronReacts I can only assume that I know it from AM radio in the early 70s, as it was from before my time. th-cam.com/video/JDUjeR01wnU/w-d-xo.html

Nice reaction! Check out Morgan James and Scott Bradlee doing Take Me To Church, or Sweet Child O' Mine.
