Anyone who has done millions in e-com has dealt with this, yet he's the only person to talk about it. I can't even imagine the weight on your shoulders with a big flop on top of the self branding and following. It's almost hard to believe you can keep any type of aggressive direct response e-commerce store running for over a year unless you stay under 30k/mo in sales. The merchant processing scams are a whole different story. Anyway, thanks for being so transparent.
Would you say direct response e-com is a minority of successful store? What structure do you think most stores have?
@@georgemulford2910 direct response is a form of marketing, it's going nowhere. however, until recently it's been used to promote once intricate processes that technology has now made transparent and easily accessible. Amazon is doing direct response right now, what's prime and the auto-subscriptions on essential products? think bigger. so instead of focusing on direct response being the reason for failure, focus on can you sell your product at the same fair price as everyone on Amazon and eBay? If not, then you aren't providing value or transparency and you're not thinking long term. Sure throw around the buzz words brand and culture, Gary Vee and the shopify kiddos can lick my nut sack
What type of merchant processing scams?
@@mirandah6927 just stick with stripe and other big names. If you can’t float the reserves you shouldn’t be in business and if you can’t get approved there’s probably good reasons. Not going to get into the actual fraud and blend schemes but most processors who cater to e-commerce are running disgusting short lived pyramid schemes accepting accounts they know won’t last and juggling them behind their bigger accounts at parking garages etc who do thousands of transactions a day w no chargebacks. They merchant account resellers are putting signers in horrible situations after they sign personal guarantees, but they don’t care at all - what’s it to them? Besides your future in biz. Anyway let me stop short.

Here's something about me, I'm currently working on a drop shipping plateform, and i had no idea about it until a week ago. Which seems to me like a stupid thing to do but i got no proper sources to guide me on the dos and don'ts all they do is repeate the same words over and over again which are mostly not related to what we have planned. Yo i started dropshipping cuz of yous two hearing the pizza boi make 1.5M in his first year hyped me to bits. For real this was super cool of nate to come on and basically show everyone that no matter how big you are or feel you can always become small again and loose it all. You guys are way ahead of the curve. Your knowledge is your real wealth including the failures. The subtitle of this of this video could be "Humility and its value". My "why" has never been validation or clout but rather options. Stuck behind a desk 8-5 m-f sucks, begging for a raise sucks, giving 110% everyday and that just being an expectation sucks. Being able to sign my own paychecks would be so mentally and emotionally freeing I so appreciate all this work you do and what you give back!

@@byronaarav2169 You can click the can't help logging in button when you try to log in then try to send a verification through email or phone. If that doesn't work, fill up the other options there and Instagram will email you requesting some sort of verification or an ID

Funny how I made THE EXACT SAME MISTAKES AS SCHMIDT DID. I hit my first success, made a bunch of money, then balling it out thinking I was the shit and everything I touch would just turn into gold now that I started this brand it did not work as expected and I started to doubt myself everyday Hhaha funny how we all living the same life Schmidt. Little late but great video. I am 25 now... started drop shipping 4 years ago. Multiple 7 figures top line, and man its been a roller coaster ride in every way imaginable. Nate said it best, validation... We all start in business for different reasons but our "why" changes as we evolve as entrepreneurs, make the money and hit our goals. We realize that it's one constant chase of always seeking more and never being fulfilled with where you are at. I think we all go through this crisis at one point in our journey. One of my favourite quotes is, "entrepreneurship is a personal growth journey, disguised as a business pursuit".... Take care fellas.

I kind of wish all drop shipping videos start out like this to show the realities of building your 'house on sand' so to speak. Celebrities experience this when they get to the top and lose themselves. I'm really glad you shared this because I have been concerned that many young people may be mislead by the nature of the flashy get rich quick e-com vids.

What i got from this video was he overindulged on his lifestyle though it cost him big-time. He tried to make a crappy item into a full-fledged brand work but it didn't. And now he just started again and went in with a different mindset and it worked out.

I get you guys talking about the stuff, where you start because you want to make money and live this lavish lifestyle but I think it's necessary step to go through and everyone who is starting in ecommerce will go through that. The only thing that seperates the succesful and the unsuccesful is how fast can you go past this step and focus your attention to the bigger picture.
