What a treat! Your videos are superb, and the best way to enjoy Smersh Pod/RLM. As a yankee, I had never heard of the Royal Knockout and would be lost without the context!
The program was called "Its a Knockout" and was a regular on Saturday evening British TV. It was made famous by the commentary and how he would lose it laughing at the contestants failures during the tasks. They were usually competing families and they were a series of silly games, almost circus like in its presentation. The Royals would get involved once a year I think, and then they would change the name to 'its a Royal knockout'.
Samantha Fox lol. I had to look up that 89 Brit awards show to be sure, but yeah that's the lady. My brother had a poster of her in his room when I was a little kid lol. It meant a lot to me.
Right Bat, I've finished all your uploads and will need you to get to the next one on the double! 👏 Seriously. Loved finding your channel and I eagerly await the next upload
I mean, very loosely based. The name Ben Richards and the fact that it's a game show about killing people are the same but absolutely everything (including the nature of the game) else is different. I believe King even sued them to have his name removed from the movie.
I rarely get the British actor references on this podcast, kind of surprised they didn't know Richard Dawson. Did they not air Hogan's Heroes in the UK?
Best bit is when she says 'I get airsick man, I'm gonna throw up all over you''.. and Arnie replies : ''Go ahead, won't ruin this shirt''. His delivery and accent are perfecto
He was born in Gosport Hampshire on the 20th November 1932 . His birth name was Colin Lionel Emm . He died 2 June 2012 aged 79 from complications of esophageal cancer in Los Angeles .
Another great video, thanks. The Running Man - apart from my enjoying it on the odd occasion it comes on the telly I can't for the life of me work out what I think of this film. It certainly isn't good, but it is entertaining. A 'Best of the Worst' with a budget or a cult classic? I don't know. PS: Carry on Cleo, Carry on up the Khyber, Carry on Screaming... all films worthy of a Smersh Pod review?

Ghahhh! Please read the so-called Richard so-called *Stephen King* so-called Bachman novel, it’s so much better than this arse movie, which is by the way, utter crapola, although Arniie is the best 80s actor ever
Nonsense. Movie is far superior to the story. It knows exactly what it is. Which is something that can't be said for any of the Kings' Bachman stories. Apart from Thinner. And maybe Blaze - haven't read that one yet. Then again, Bachman stories being kinda incoherent is probably the reason why they work better when adapted by other people. Both Battle Royale and Hunger Games literally came to be when their respective writers read King's The Bachman Books collection - and then re-imagined elements from it into a more coherent world and storyline.
Ask someone born and raised in Bakersfield California I was stoked to hear them use my hometown in a movie
I have zero context for Smersh Pod or the UK references but I still laughed and understood the humor, it speaks well of your editing!
Thanks very much! More on the way VERY soon, so keep an eye on your subscription feed!: th-cam.com/channels/k1jbdRuPM7WCgl9RPX-roQ.html
14:08 I was drinking something when he said that /spittake 😂
Surprisingly, they didn't mention the best line in the entire movie.
"I'll be back."
"Only in a rerun, pal."
Fun fact: ceramic shards are actually so sharp they use them to make scalpel blades. Porcelain Greg could fuck you up!
Yeah but he's some tosser in a ming dynasty artefact, not some ceramite clad techno warrior with micromolecular blades
hey better watch the suit with that sort of talk mister, or porcelain greg might ming ya@@Whatsuppbuddies
Porcelain Greg is actually Alexander the Warrior Pot.

Amazing that this was only three years before Total Recall. And Arnie looks so young.
Yeah Arnie aged super weirdly. Probably all the steroids.
……..he looks IDENTICAL from this and total recall….really….identical
I love what you've done with this. A fantastic Smersh Pod with really great augmentation.
Thanks, Graham... More on the way very soon!
That postcode lottery bit lol

I like these much more than the actual podcasts
Underrated Arnie movie. Pure 80s fun from beginning to end.
Hahaha you guys are hilarious. Just subbed! Please do more Arnie movies.
I genuinely laughed so hard I was crying at how dumb this was. Thank you for brightening my day.
Thanks!
To be fair, compared to todays plots of movies, this masterpiece
I didn't even know until recently that The running man film is based off a Steven King novel. Well there you go
I mean, very loosely based. The name Ben Richards and the fact that it's a game show about killing people are the same but absolutely everything (including the nature of the game) else is different.
I believe King even sued them to have his name removed from the movie.
It's very good, for what it is. Definitely one of the novels that helped give shape to the coming cyberpunk genre.
Stevie Nix left to form the Borg as their first queen.
Please keep these coming!
Stay tuned for more very soon!
I rarely get the British actor references on this podcast, kind of surprised they didn't know Richard Dawson.
Did they not air Hogan's Heroes in the UK?
Surprisingly not.
This movie was a Predator and Predator 2 actors pre-reunion.
another fantastic edit!!! please keep making these
Cheers!
I remember when movies were fun
Please make the whole RLM commentary catalog! These are absolutely amazing :D
Mankind, or is it mancruel? too true
I'm so happy when you post.
Awww, shucks... Thank you!
I'm always excited to see one of your videos. Smershpod especially, I'd wait years for a vid just to watch it
Keep an eye on that sub feed, sir! :th-cam.com/channels/k1jbdRuPM7WCgl9RPX-roQ.html

Dynamo is a mixture of the go compare man and john wayne gacy jr wrapped in tinfoil 🤣
Best bit is when she says 'I get airsick man, I'm gonna throw up all over you''.. and Arnie replies : ''Go ahead, won't ruin this shirt''. His delivery and accent are perfecto
great show lads
You guys need to actually advertise the podcast in these videos.
The actor playing Killian, Richard Dawson was also a Brit fellas.
He was born in Gosport Hampshire on the 20th November 1932 . His birth name was Colin Lionel Emm . He died 2 June 2012 aged 79 from complications of esophageal cancer in Los Angeles .
He was also in Hogan' s Heroes as Corporal Peter Newkirk from 1965 till 1971 . He was in all 168 episodes.
@@rhysthomas5811 you have Google too? Small world...
Another great video thank you. I love your smersh pod videos. The Mrs doubtfire commentary would make a funny video
Thanks!
The name’s Pete. Clods of Pete.
The fog mines. Absolutely lost it.
That was how demolition man started
Why does Rich Evans sound so weird?
Yeah, I noticed that too.. Must've been a glitchy upload

How is he uploading other peoples content and not getting takedown order...
I’ve heard people talk about this movie over 10 times, still have zero idea what it’s about lol
its about society
