Dapol Class 58 DCC Decoder Issue

  • When I fitted a DCC Decoder to this model it caused a short on the track.
    I managed to fix this easily as shown in the video

      Hi Chris, must be more common than I thought then, I've purchased a few locos in my time and haven't had this happen. I'm just happy that I didn't destroy my decoder in the process!

    Hi John, there is a similar issue with the class 52. Usually there is a bit of insulting rubber attached to the blanking plug, to remove and fit to the decoder.

      Hi Mark, ah yes, I went and had a look at the blanking plug now you mentioned it. Never thought of doing that. Maybe it would have been a better idea from Dapol to stick that insulator on the main circuit board rather than on the blanking plug? Cheers for now. John
