There are auto-reversers you can buy that change the polarity of the whole loop to the track you come from and then again to the track you go onto. One restriction, the train can’t be longer than the length of the reverse loop otherwise the polarity on one end of the loop will be conflicting. If you don’t want to use the fancy auto-reversers you can make your own manual reverse switch but that is harder work, the auto-reverser does it all for you after it is installed. So basically the reverse loop is powered separately and can be switched to match the track you come from or go to. It works best with DCC, that is what I use, not sure how great it works on a standard DC set. Google the term auto reverser and you will find some good articles about it. Thanks for the question. 👍🏻
@@TSmith-ns45 correct. No scenery needed. It’s designed for a purpose, to make long trains and run them, break em apart, built a new one and run that etc. There will be a second level in the future with a massive reverse loop but let’s see if I can finish the first level first, it has 2 large reverse loops so I should be able to run 2 decent sized trains at the same time. Thanks for leaving a comment. 👍🏻

@@417Dobro yes, DCC is pretty cool. You can also run multiple trains on the same track in different directions when all going forward. Just put the train on the track, select forward and the train goes forward regardless which way the nose is pointing. Thanks for the comment. 👍🏻
