Poor ONT, such a nice facility, yet SO under utilized.
The City of Ontario - which just repurchased ONT from the City of Los Angeles -- is going to discover that marketing ONT isn't nearly as easy as city officials thought it would be, when they blamed L.A. World Airports for neglecting the facility. The decline in service ONT suffered with the onset of the Great Recession wasn't unlike those felt by other regional airports such as Burbank (BUR). Airlines were consolidating their schedules and service at LAX because that airport was and is an international hub. But there's no reason why ONT can't be a great regional airport. Officials just need to focus on the Inland Empire market, and not try to compete with LAX.
@@donaldkoelper5807 Ontario is a great airport (in my opinion) but what kills it is the price. Because an internal flight from U.S to Mexico at Ontario cost around 300 or 400 dollars for round trip but LAX offers a cheaper price for that trip coming around 180 or 230 dollars but at LAX you got to deal with the traffic of cars and distance(if you live in the I.E but even if you dont traffice will all ways be there). So overall Ontario fast, easy going and close by but to expensive and LAX cheap, up to date and great sight but to far, bunch if security and traffic.

Not really. I just flew it the other day EWR-ATL. It's active in service as we speak.
