Actually this is a GPR75-not a fifty. The engine features a 43mm crank, and a number of differences over the 50cc blocks. The top end would be incompatible with one of the 50cc blocks. And while it might have been registered in 2001 it's a 2000 model year. Amazing condition! Whoever bought it is very lucky indeed. The museum never should have sold it-they obviously had no idea what they had in this bike.

I am actually the owner of this bike now. I had made the mistake of buying a gpr50 big bore kit. Where do I get a gpr75 kit? I'd like to get this bike running again.

i bought this exact bike in spain in about 2003, it was new but not restricted from the shop, im sure it was a 50cc. then i fitted a 70cc cylinder. very small uncomfortable bike. i rode it alot so i know. its unbearable pain. made me want a supermoto! which is what i did! roadbikes> never again.

@@Tangiblenotion look for cylinders which need a 43mm crank. Other then that, just buy any complete kit (cylinder&crank) and fit it into the engine. EBS75/50. I also was looking for a cagiva mito 75 recently but their its really hard to find any spare or new parts for the cagiva engine, while for the derbi ebe/ebs still many new parts are getting produced but also less and less with every year. But since derbi d50b engines has the same mountingpoints, like the ebe/ebs engine, you can just switch the engines out and widen your choice of tuningparts to a complete new level where only your budget is limiting the options XD

@@DrSmile81 Damn I could never find the actual cylinder that I needed but I found a guy who makes spacers so that the gpr50 top end works with the 75 crank I bought one but by then I already sold the bike to a collector for triple what I paid for it. hopefully he figured out how to use the spacer properly.

Great 50cc machines! Another 50cc stunner is the HONDA MB5, which is a work of art! It looks like a smaller Ducati, and can hit 55 MPH flat out! Exported to the USA for only one year, 1982. Rare and exotic.

I wish I would've seen this before the auction. I've been looking for one since I was a kid.

There are lots of GPRs in Europe, and quite a few in the States. If you look around you can find one. Most of them are beat to hell, but with some proper care you can bring them back to life, although it's getting harder to source parts.

This type of bike was popular in Europe among teenagers in the 1990's.

This is a copy of the Cagiva Prima.

    • @gprcamp1435

It's not, it's the same bike (for the most part), with a Derbi engine. After Cagiva stopped producing the Prima, and 50cc Mito they licensed the bike to Derbi. On the early versions you can find the elephant logo on many of the parts.
There are some other slight changes. For instance, because of the engine design the sprockets have flipped sides.
