I was born and raised in the Grey Street Casbah in the Durban CBD. Our streets were clean and safe and no criminals or filth. This is how I recall Durban ,not the way it is now . We will never get this Durban back unfortunately and those memories especially if the beachfront and CBD are in the past now especially with the recent disgusting looting and internal terrorism we just faced.

A Brit who visited the Durban area twice in the 2000s, my ex was from the province. So beautiful the coast line and also inland Natal. I don't expect to go back and hope the city can recover the pride it had in those days.

I lived in Umzinto on the South Coast and in the 70s used to go to Durban every Saturday night to collect the Sunday Tribune and Times to deliver all the way down the South Coast up to Port Edward. The news papers only came out a midnight so we had plenty of time to explore the streets of Durban. Clean streets and safe. I live in Cape Town now and haven't been to Durban city centre in 24 years.

Ah! Days before filming with drones. Looking at the beach and hearing the helicopter sound reminds me of the John Rolfe rescue helicopter from back then. I worked and lived in Durban at that time. Capital radio on South beach. The yachts and boats. The cable cars . The dodge-em cars . The sunken gardens. Feeding pigeons in the park. Durban was just beautiful and amazing. It is now a dead city. The locals don't go there. I moved to the suburbs and keep away from the city. It's gone to the dogs

if the DA was able to run Durban for 12 years , they would be able to undo all the damage the ANC did for the past 30.
Durban would become alot like Miami.

Durban before the Moses Mabhida Stadium sounds like another century, remembered, and perhaps a little missed. I lived there in the '90s. Thanks for bringing it all back. Time does not stand still, they say. So, shoot a new one, showing all the important changes in the look and feel of the Metro. Money allowing, a one hour or 90 minute show would be nice. Eita.

Lol stop. There are countless infrastructure programs underway to redevelop the city centre and a new city near the port. Also Durban Aerotropolis is being built. Transport networks are being added every year in the region to connect all regions in Durban. The promenade has rejuvenation plans as well.

This made me sad. I was born in Durban. Lived here my entire life. It was such a beautiful city. Not anymore. It's filthy . Garbage never gets picked up. The munipality has built open air urinals in the once beautiful Greenacres lane, amongst
other streets. And it overflows into the streets. There's more illegal migrants than locals. Now the municipality is pumping sewage into the oceans. The old Durban would give any European city a run for its money. Not anymore. Durban is dead. Durbanites keep away from from the city.

Nothing goes in the right direction if you make wrong decisions.
You are only in control of your own actions, stop worrying about how the world is changing, this is normal.
      The world is always changing.
That's why it's written in the scriptures, don't worry but seek the kingdom of God first and its righteous and everything shall be added. Mathew.
Nothing goes wrong in the kingdom of God, in other words nothing God wrong when you are always doing what God requires from you.
