Henry Francis Fynn had many Zulu wives like John Dunn & Henry ogle to mention a few with findable history Durban Coloureds and some Zulu people descend from them
It was discovered by the indigenous people,most likely the Zulus, who were already living there, long before Da Gama arrived.
I would like to know when Port of Durban commence to expand and become modern? Is it about the 1960's? Does the port receive heavy equipment from Japan?
Major expansion took place from the 70's onwards. New equipment for containers and loose bulk handling was upgraded and purchased. The port has mainly container-handling equipment and forklifts from Japan.

The last time I've been to Durban, the Goods harbor access ways were so congested it took the trucks two days to transport their cargo to the harbor head from Edwin Swales avenue, past the Bluff yacht club into the harbor.. That was the sorry state of of affair for two months until I left, which was before Covid lockdowns. God only knows what's happening there now. Might as well close the harbor. What a circus.

What the hell do you mean "discovered" by Vasco da Gama?
As far as I can work out he was one of the first to come past. (Natal, meaning Christmas in Portugese) got its name from him. (he arrived on Christmas day)
Let me break it down for you... Vasco da Gama discovered Natal (in other words, he found Natal. prior to that, Natal was unoccupied.
I suspect you're going to say that's wrong etc, do a bit of actual research before arguing.
@@sameshenmoodley7378 Nop that's not true they were Portuguese sailors before him. And for the first time in their lives they saw the cattle herding men (Zulu) on that land. The Portuguese only sought the place to rest and use for navigation so they can sail on. And that what they did. They then exchanged the Maize Meal for cattle with the Zulu. Then the sailed on to Mozambique.

@@issylockhat423 The Zulu were created there. They called it eThekwini north of it Umhlanga and south Amanzimtoti. But that's the land of the Ngcobo. The Portuguese found them there. Otherwise if they discovered an occupied land they would have stayed.
So they just docked and built a harbour on someone's land...no talks or land negotiations they just set up shop? They started trading in a lagoon? With who?
