The ebow and guitar slide sound very similar to a Theremin!

This is amazing never realised you could use an ebow on acoustic so this is a revelation for me thanks. Such otherworldly sounds coming from a familiar instrument. Might have to busk around to throw passers by for a loop while also trying in vain to recoup the totally necessary expense of the passerelle bridge ;)

Yes! I only learned the ebow works on acoustic after this experiment, too. Now I try it on everything!

Way cool! It sounds like a Chinese Zither.

Yes! It’s like a Chinese guzheng, too, as it’s marketed similar too 👍

i put some thin strips of moleskin on my ebow so it wont buzz on the strings. I also switched to all steel strings. phos/bronz strings are none magnetic as is stainless steel. that make the ebow more effective so it doesnt have to be as close to the string

This is incredibly cool, especially the picking one side and e-bowing the other

Excellent demo of this very unique method! Very different than other players that I’ve seen. Great job!

Thank you! I love finding alternate ways to play an instrument (especially ones I'm not good at!).

I love experimenting like this. I'm just surprised you can a reaction from brass/bronze strings with an ebow.

Thanks! Isn't it crazy? You can be sure when I learned that I tried the ebow on everything I had laying around!

Passerelle Bridgeß? China Guzheng and Japan Koto principles.

Yes, it creates a similar instrument and most musicians would probably emulate these principles given its nature. 😂
