I went to a boarding high school in the Monterey Bay area of California. We were not allowed to have a television in our dorm rooms, we could only watch school-owned or faculty-owned TVs. If you were caught with one, it would be confiscated and the next time you went home, it was sent home. Prior to October 17, 1989, one student had a Sony Watchman Sport and it was confiscated. When the Loma Prieta Earthquake hit at 5:04 PM, just before Game 3 of the 1989 World Series between the Giants and the A's. The dean allowed this Watchman to come out of confiscation so that we could see what was happening, as we had no electricity and no one wanted to be in TV, even if we had power. That is my memory of the Watchman.
I still have a landline phone except it has some newer features such as caller identification, a built in answering machine. I use it more than I use my cell phone.😂 And the receiver is wireless.
I got the Atari and you had to buy it through the mail only and yes I would get mad at the neighbors cuz they would sit there and play for hours on my Atari😊

OMG, I definitely REMEMBER those old wringer/washer clothes machines! My grandmother owned one during the 1960s. Yeah, I got my fingers caught on 'em!
Oh my God I got that Sony watchman for Christmas and I absolutely loved it
Just a couple days ago? You mean that Christmas?
They seemed like magic.
It Feels Like Magic. The magic of Shushybye.
I used Windows XP for 8 years.
I used a window once to throw my tv out of. Did that count?
Windows XP is the first version of Windows not on top of DOS for home users. This made it much more stable and reliable
XP was more stable but it was Windows 98.
@@wheelieblindWindows XP was definitely more stable Windows Vista and it didn’t use as much space in your computer. 😊
I thought refrigerators used R12 coolant similarly to automotive air conditioners years ago.

Omg I remember thinking windows XP was the coolest looking thing I had ever seen 😂
8 track player before pager lol, the order these things are in is funny.
My mom used a Maytag Wringer Washer. I wanted to help her as a kid and my hands got caught in the wringer. It was not fun!
I do remember in the 60s everybody had a burn barrel in the backyard and yes the neighborhoods would stink of rotten smoke
Now some neighbors smoke weed and the neighborhood smells like a skunk. I understand that marijuana smoke smells like skunk.🦨
