I just thought I would make a video on how I cased our windows and trimmed them out, this is about as simple as it gets. This could be a good method for you aren't sure you want to do it yourself.

Exactly what I needed for both of my new kitchen windows. I like the simplicity of this. Thank you so much oh and I’m not the best at measuring so this helped me a great deal🙌🏼
This was just what we needed thank you so much and great job. We needed simple and you delivered. Not a bunch of lingo we didn't understand or complicated angles or cuts.
Thank you for keeping it simple an getting right to the point. I was engaged the whole time. I really appreciate it.
This really helped. I am a new homeowner and beginner at everything. Had new windows installed and one of them had no trim and need to do myself. I have all the tools. Just want to keep it simple. Thank you.
Very helpful. Now I’m not afraid to trim but more importantly you taught me how to use my nail gun.
Thanks for the tips! Looking to do almost exactly the same style of jam and trim! Good Simple video...
No "Fancy Nancy" here! Thanks for the video easy install and they look great!
Very helpful. Will help.me tomorrow on my first trim window in our basement!!
Just what I needed! I think I can do it by myself!
Harbour Freight nailer! I got the same one, works very good and good price.
Nice and simple, this is definitely gonna help when I do my windows
Yep. Good video. Helps me get started.
Perfect that’s all I need ❤my first time but looks simple enough
You got this! 💪
Nice simple job. Regarding nailing the side trim pieces (around 5:04) I have seen some videos suggest that a small nail (like you used) is best for the inside (attaching the side face piece to the edge of the side leg of the casing) but a longer, thicker nail should be used on the outside of the trim where you are nailing through the trim piece and drywall into the stud underneath. Dunno if it makes much of a difference, just thought I'd mention it.
Not bad , looks a lot better than just sheet rock return. I always build a window stool makes for a lot fancier looking job. Next time if you're going to trim your windows that way cut everything to fit fasten it all together ( prefab it ) then just place them in the window and nail your trim to the wall. If you have several windows it will save you some time. Good luck and well done job
Great jobs are very rewarding that somebody knows what the hell they're doing😊
Sweet and simple. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Good video. Very simple and straightforward. Thanks.
Also, no annoying loud music.

If painting, prime those knots with an oil based primer or Shellack to keep the resin from bleeding through
Hi thank you very much simple I like it 😊
Welcome!

Thanks a lot!
This was helpful.
I have 2 garage windows to case in....this will work.
Perfect! You got this 🤘🤘🤘

Lets Go! 💪
Awesome thank you!
You're welcome!
Very helpful! This is exactly what I plan to do to all of my poorly finished windows. Thanks for sharing.... 😀
Oh, are you using poplar or pine boards?
Thanks! These were just pine.
Thank you for the video! I’m looking to trim out windows that are finished with drywall. Do I have to remove the drywall around the window, or can I nail the trim wood right over the drywall?
You could put it right over as long as you like the reveal on the window face.
@@BreakFreeHomestead I’m not sure what that means, but I’m going for it! I’ll let you know how it goes.
Not sure what color you painted but hopefully you used a liberal few coats of shellac based primer over those knots. Knotty pine will bleed through everything.
You the case- master
lol not quite but it works!
Good job .....
Thank you so much! 🤘🤘🤘
Walk in closet installer for 8 years now, caulking saves my quantity over quality just kidding life
When in doubt caulk it out 🤘🤘😂
nice trick with the pry bar/ not shims
Thanks Mike!
Can you do the same thing on the outside??
Yes for the trim, you would just most likely need the drip edge on top
what lumber you using ?
This was just pine

Caulked is the word not cocked
Any suggestions?
Just measure your sides plus 1/8th and put the 45 mitres on those lines. Then nail them up and measure the opening thats left. Or you could just build it before putting it up.
So I'm having a brain fart...I. trying to do this with a 45° cut
