I made a very similar recipe recently. Instead of flour as a thickening agent I cooked some potatoes in it and smooshed the pieces once it was close to done cooking. I didn’t use coconut milk-that sounds great though.

Nice!! I've been craving tomato soup. If gluten-free, will brown rice flour work? I use that to make gravies. Thank you so much!

Yes, brown rice flour is a great gluten-free option for this recipe.

Just wondering if you’re vegan, or if you’re plant based. Veganism is an ethical stance, not just a diet. Veganism includes a plant based diet. 💚🌱

Thanks for your question! I am a vegan, and all my recipes are plant-based!

You're right about that, Jeanneamato! It's amazing how much junk food is classified as "vegan."

Many people are vegan for humane reasons, as they don’t want animals to suffer and die when we have plenty of alternatives. So if someone is a chocoholic or loves their burgers and fries etc., veganism can accommodate them too!

You can be an unhealthy vegan, so it’s easier these days to say plant based for both sides.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 🙂 Some plant based people eat dairy, so I don't want to confuse anyone.

@KathysVeganKitchen Agree, I’ve heard folks describe themselves as plant-based just because the majority of what they eat is plant based, and that’s different than being a vegan. And some vegans love junk food and aren’t really plant based in the strictest sense. So vegan is the most accurate term, though there’s a lot of overlap with plant based for sure.
