- Darn it! Lost some of the video filming this episode. Oh well, still was able to get my point crossed... Canoe fishing can be an effective tactic for catching walleye. Mostly, traveling by. canoe allows you to access waters where fishing pressure is light. The BWC A is one of many remote areas in our region and a canoe gives you a wider range of fishing options. So, get outside, explore and catch some fish!

Thank you. I am headed to Gunflint Lake in late August. I will be watching your video to prepare myself
Great video, very informative! Makes me think that I missed my opportunity, next time I’m going fish with you in your canoe.
Great video !
Thanks! Hope you are able to get out and enjoy some great things we have going in our area. For me, Minnesota is the best! Thanks for watching
Great video! Learned a lot that I’ll use on my next trip up there!
Did you get em?
I installed an anchor trolley on my solo canoes and I run a small 16" drift sock on it. Works incredibly well for slowing a drift. I can pull the anchor trolley to move the sock to run off the side, bow or stern instantly so I can have my canoe positioned in a perfect orientation to whatever I'm fishing for structure. Best part is I stay locked in that position with no spinning or anything and it's hands free.
Thanks for the tip! Nothing wrong with canoe fishing in my opinion. Probably should figure out a proper net sometime. Thanks always for watching
I have been doing mostly Quetico for 40 years.
The first 32 years mostly Saganagons.
The last 7 years mostly the west end of quetico and the bwca. With one trip up to Beaverhouse, Quetico, Jean. That was last year when the high water took for ever to warm up.
The first 30 years was mostly walleye. My brother really likes the tap tap of a walleye bite.
But the last ten years I have converted him to a smallmouth topwater addict like me. With a mepps near buy.
We use to go to Saganagons with a high-school buddy who's uncles use to fly up near there in there float plan. He once mentioned the north east part of Saganagons is where the smallmouth would spawn.
My brother and I are a one trick poney. If the warmer temperatures are just right for spawning. We have a blast.
If the water is to cold we struggle. Same with post spawn.
Any fishing lakes or lures and techniques are welcomed.
I am 60, my brother 63. He is not much of a fan of portaging. And our bwca trips have too many people.
Thanks...
Thanks, Golfish! Thanks for continuing to watch even after my A’hole response to one of your comments. Sorry! I might have a lake suggestion where the bass are unlimited and the size of footballs. Timing the spawn is always best as you say, but you can target these fish all season. Thanks again for hanging with the channel! In 2 weeks, I will be going for early-ice walleye and I will talk about the spawning stuff that I have observed. Have a good day
not summer yet? nice!
Good info. Thank you. What was that fish head concoction in the bucket near the end?
That is my fertilizer/fish emulsion. Really works! Thanks for watching!
Hi! Nice video. Are you fishing Gunflint Lake?
Thanks for watching! Not gunflint lake…email me and
I can give you the details
Please explain more about "the spawning side of the lake" by spicies.
Thanks...
I will try to explain my observations on spawning side on my next fishing video…couple of weeks. Do you fish in the Boundary Waters? Glad you are still watching and I hope you are catching.
Where's the life jacket, not sure you know what you're doing😮
