Canoe Fishing in Minnesota
Some basic boundary waters camping with some of my best buds. One of my favorite areas in the BWCA. The fishing was decent and the camping was choice. You just have to love Minnesota!

I venture out to South Dakota about every 2 weeks to check on my friend Richard. Been out there a four times in last couple months but have not been able to produce a video. Finally, enough time and action to take some video. Thought early season may be tough but we managed to catch and keep a pile. Still waiting on Spring; this trip will tide me over until the next adventure. Thanks for watchi...

Finally was able to get back to my favorite boundary waters lake. With the lack of snow and the roads plowed, this was the year to make an attempt to get to this lake. The conditions were great for travel so it was a quick journey. However, the wind was fierce and it made the fishing tough. Turns out is was basically a scouting trip and a nice winter camp out. I did catch a few fish but it was ...

Wow! What a fantastic Winter. Fishing has been excellent and the travel conditions are magnificent. A great year to get to some less travelled spots. And the far end of this lake is one of my favorite areas in the BWCA. This was one of my favorite trips in a long time. So much fun! Can hardly wait to get back at the fishing in a couple days. I will keep you posted.

Finally a trip up to the BWCA! It has been a great Winter but my car broke down and that has limited my travel. The weather has been fantastic for fishing so I am so glad to be mobile... Back to the Boundary Waters for the last half of Winter. And the fish are biting to start my season. Thanks for watching!
Part 2: Easy Camping and a Boatload of Deer

Took a couple day,s regrouped and headed back out to the river for some muzzleloader hunting. This time, I was headed downriver to an area where have been dreaming about... I had the entire 7 mile stretch of river bottoms to myself. Had a very successful trip and was able to really check out the area. Peaceful and beautiful as always. And I was able to get some delicious venison. Think I have o...

Wisconsin rifle opener and I have been searching all season for a comfortable place to open the season. After deliberating for a bit, I decided to go to an area where I have hunted in the past. Turned out to be a fine decision. 3 nights of camping in ideal November conditions And the hunting was a success. Shortly, I had a great trip and I am heading back in a couple days with the muzzleloader.

Grocery Shopping in the Great North Woods: Hunting for Grouse, Ducks, Deer and a few Fish
มุมมอง 54410 หลายเดือนก่อน
Weekend #2 of the hunting season. Warm, wet weather has made hunting a bit more difficult. However, if I am willing to bring it out, usually can bring home some meat. It is "go time" so I can't afford to be idle. For me, I spend nearly all of my available time in the woods searching for game. After this weekend, the food cache just got a little big bigger.

Big fish wow! Was this from July or were you up in June?
@@FishingWithKa about a week ago. Usually a great midsummer lake, but we timed a major bug hatch and as a result, fish were pretty inactive. A few nice fish. Have fun
nice catch!
@@patricktecklenburg1935 thanks Patrick!
Great video Tom! Looks like a great campsite and that you guys are very well. Stay hungry my friend!
@@willac145 Thanks dude!

@@timwagenmanuplandadventure8270 good luck on your trip! Getting good reports on pheasant counts in South Dakota. Thanks
@@thehungryhunter a good winter and in some spots a great nesting season….some areas got too much rain though this Spring. Hoping for good 2nd nestings out of those areas, we’ll see!

@@colinmahon19 thanks! I really appreciate you watching and I am glad you enjoyed. Hopefully, I can keep producing a video from time to time. Thanks again

@@thehungryhunter well keep plughin away my friend always enjoy your videos!!!
Although I don't live in that region, I've done plenty of walleye fishing, and my old roommate fished just walleye, and I managed to pick up tricks that work and improved my catch rate. It pertains to this style of jigging for walleye. 1) 3"-4" single tail jigs, and 1/8th oz heads early season, 1/4 oz summer until fall. 2) when jigging do not use mono. Braid is your friend. Walleye like to hit on the drop while jigging so feeling it can be tough, braid improves sensitivity and is tougher than mono. 3) even in lakes with pike, we don't use leaders. It affects your presentation in my experience. 4) if you can use a shiner with your jigging rig with the plastic, as per your regs, then do it. 5) 8-10" from bottom is perfect jigging height from bottom. 6) when you get a strike, lift your rod level to the water and lift straight, don't tip your rod tip up to set the hook. Chances are magnified of you messing up setting the hook. 7) last one. When walleye are hooked from jigging, they're gonna do a figure eight pattern. You'll see this once you've set your hook. Bigger walleye will feel similar to some pike, just a log til they see the boat. Couple added things to consider as well as the valuable info in this vid.
Where's the life jacket, not sure you know what you're doing😮

Those perch are nice, would like to get on a bunch like that! Wind can be tough at times for sure!
Great video. Thanks so much
I love it. I need to learn to attack life like you. Keep us posted on the food truck
Should just drive that food truck up and park in grand marais. Plenty of folks up there would keep you plenty busy in town. Would save on gas for sure.lol
Thanks so much for taking us with you. I love your content.
Love the vids. What’s the name of your food truck?
That looked like a blast. I was planning a trip with my wife up to the BWCA for March, but we canceled it due to the uncertainty of the ice conditions. It's been a crazy year for the weather. Watching you is the next best thing so thanks for sharing.
I am glad you are watching but it’s too bad you had to cancel trip this year. If you are able to reconsider, I am finding conditions are pretty excellent for travel and ice is very good. Portages are a bit icy but easier than usual. If you ever need any specific info, just send me an email. Thanks again!
I'm an old man who loves to watch this kind of stuff. You're awesome working your tail off. Making it all come together so cool. Keep everyone coming back with more, more sharing from you of the lakes you're on. That's really the only thing I can think of that'smissing. Keep everyone coming back.
Thanks so much! It means a lot to me that you are watching! I would love to share all the lake info but it seems like people get bent out of shape when I do. Also, don’t want to take the chance of ruining a spot for locals. I will consult with couple of my younger friends and some of those locals to see what they think about naming lakes. I would like to mention lake names so I will rethink all of that… thanks for the feedback and I will keep videos coming.
Now that's a great mixed bag, looks like a ton of fun! Happy to hear more videos are coming. Take care
Thanks Outdoorsman! It’s a year round adventure here. What season would you be most interested in if you are going to visit? See ya
@@thehungryhunter I'd be most interested in ice fishing, but also would love to do some canoe fishing/camping as well.
good to hear you keeping the videos coming 👍
Thanks Chad! The response has been so positive that I have to keep it up. I love the process and I am determined to keep it going as best I can. Thanks for watching!
Just wanted to say that this is my favorite channel that I’ve found in a long time. You cover all of my interests between gardening, hunting, river fishing, and a newfound passion for the BWCA. I wish you luck with the food truck, and I hope you still put some content out when you get a chance. Thank you for all of the videos.
Thanks for wonderful comment! I am glad you are interested in all of those great activities. Have fun scouting the BWCA. Sounds like you would love foraging as well. Just a good excuse to be in the woods. Thanks for watching and I will keep my video project going.

I wish I had half the knowledge of the bwca that you do. Ive been on a few spring canoe trips in the bwca and wondered about doing a winter trip. Watching your vids gave me some inspiration and a lot of knowledge to get out there... possibly next winter. Thank You
I hope you continue to get out there. Winter really isn’t too bad and the fishing is incredible. March is the best month; lots of daylight and usually warmer. Thanks for watching!
