@@ishantgaming4266 these unfortunately are Scalare and not the true Altum Angel. They come from the Rio Nanay and you often see them for sale as the Peruvian Altum - I guess this is for purely marketing purposes.
@@dh38429 thank you. The male’s eye is unfortunately a long term issue after he came off worse in a fight with another male. I’ve been able to control the problem over a number of months using a variety of different medications but not cure it completely…
Stunning angels. Congrats on your amazing job with these angels. I myself have struggled to raise and breed domestic angels successfully. Can you share what meds and treatment you used for the male with the eye injury? I had a male with same eye issue but lost him. Maybe I could learn from your treatment care so next time I'm better prepared if it happens again. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤
@@CrowntailHalfmoon I tend to use Interpet “Anti-internal bacteria” to treat pop eye. However, with this Angel it has not been 100% successful but at least controls the problem. This medication has worked with other cichlids in the past and does clear the cloudy eye with this Angel but unfortunately does not reduce the excess gas in the eye…

Hi Paul many shops in the early 2000s sold these as Altums and then later as False Altums in the Uk , are these the young from the pair off the older video you did? many thanks
@@JimBodkin no they are from the same pair shown in the older video. I have some 9 month old young from another pair that are now approaching maturity. Many years ago friends of my travelled to Holland and brought back Nanay Angels that were selling under the name of Peruvian Altums…
@@PaulsFishroom Paul they are lovely shaped angels , I think the Peruvian bit comes from the location of the River Nanay is in Peru, we managed to get some Altum angelfish looking forward to growing them on.

Remarkable capture, Paul. I watched in wonder. Curious when the parents began to eat after spawning?
