So 11 years ago you tripped over a Shellcracker and fell. Fell down the Rabbit hole of fishing swimbaits and have never looked back. I guess we all remember our first. Great stuff. 6lb something of course didnt have a scale that day but I have caught a bunch of 5lbers and this one was way bigger.
Sick video Geoff! Best Swimbait content hands down. My PB largemouth is 10.13 and it’s a dope catch because my friend and I grinded this lake all summer and finally started getting big fish when this thing came out of nowhere. Biggest we had before this was 6 and hadn’t heard of anything bigger until mine and nothing bigger since!
Great series of videos, looking forward to more. This bait looks great and one I've never seen being new to the swimbaits. PB is 6.86 on swim jig, but recently landed a 13 incher on the new Raid glide. Both were good times.
i have a lunker punker and a shellcracker. my sghellcracker has been retired due to the fact it looks absolutley two faced from how many fish ive caught on it. It was my very first real swimbvait and the bite on it is absolutely amazing. Great video and taste in baits!! The og best swimbait
Caught an 8 lb 8 oz largemouth on July 17th on a lipless crankbait! I got a new rod for shallow cranking, and first trip out, I just took it to the dam at a local lake. Second cast with that rod and reel, and I hooked into that monster. The day after, I missed about a 6 lber that bit 15 yards away from the monster the day before. He jumped completely out of the water throwing the bait. It sucked, but oddly enough it was amazing how it majestically leaped and shook the hook, it played out in slow motion. It caused me to go out and buy a go-pro and chest mount, which I have used a few times now. Can't wait to hook into another nice one with the camera rolling! Even made me a little separate youtube channel that I want to share some fun fish catches and adventures on.
I really enjoy your videos. I have only been fishing swimbaits for about a year and I have learned a lot by watching your videos. My PB is 11.4 pounds caught it hopping a blade bait in an urban pond.
PB= 7lb5oz on the baitsanity Explorer gill. 10:30 pm full moon. Love bluegill glides, they catch urban Tanks like no other. Keep up the good work, your videos got me into big baits and continue to educate me to this day.
My best Bass to date is only a 5pm Largemouth. I’m determined to try big swimbaits on our PA trout lakes and park ponds. I’m figuring bass are bass. I love the content young bruh. Keep it up!!🔥
In 1969 ish I was fishing Encanto park by the old Lovers Island . I was fishing a Heddon Cousin and a big large mouth nailed it. My Zebco 33 drag rang out and I fought it for a moment then my line broke. I was hooked for ever on fishing . I was 8 or 9 at the time. That memory constantly in my thoughts all these years latter. Thanks for posting this video today.
My very first swimbait fish came on a Black Dog shellcracker in white. Great bait. And you can 100% get replacement tails on their site. Ive bought a couple.... PB Largie for me is 6.7lb. Outta a small mountain lake in the Wichita Mountains on a white chatterbait.
Love the Shellcracker G2 and I have 2 of them. I actually had 3 but lost one bank fishing got it stuck in a laydown. I found out about the bait from Keepin It Reel fishing’s video. He makes awesome videos! My pb is a 6 pound 9 ounce largemouth that I caught on a Jackall kaera frog. Frog fishing is my favorite way to catch ‘em by far!
Caught my pb when I was 11 years old. My uncle took me to the bait shop and told me I could pick a lure out, I grabbed a gold yozuri arms series shallow crankbait. I had the bait tied on everyday that summer crushing the bass. One evening i threw it next to a tree stump and thought it had snagged, so my dad motored the boat to the stump and my line began to move. My dad and I shit our pants when a 7.5lb bass flopped to the surface and we netted it. Biggest bass I have ever seen in Wisconsin still.
9lb 3oz Largie I caught on my birthday after losing a couple in the morning fishing, it happened right before I was about to leave I casted the frog around a lily patch and it was my PB , thx for everything you do been fishing a punker since the good old Castaic lake dayz
Personal best wasn’t a bass but… late into Gulf War 1 and the Captain had the ship anchor a couple miles off the coast of Iraq. Gave the okay for the crew to do some fishing and that was my queue. Went to mess decks and asked one of the cooks for a piece of raw beef. Put it on the largest hook I had at the time and dropped over the side. Ended up hooking up a 9 1/2’ Bull Shark. Captain gave the okay to get the Boatswain’s Mates to fire up the Kingpost Boom to bring it onboard. Shark didn’t go to waste, the cooks prepped it and a few of the crew had fresh shark on the menu that night.
That G2 is really cool. My best fish are a 26lb stripped bass I won the pool with on a party boat throwing a butter knife turned into a fishing lure! It was out of New Jersey. I also caught a 7lb8oz Large Mouth flipping a texas rigged paddle tail worm, when I lived at a trailer park in Auburndale Florida. There were about 6 people who witnessed me flipping into some thick hydrilla that was between reeds and a seawall. They were all yelling that's a double digit, I said let me weigh it, but I'll guess it's going to be 7and half, I weighed her and she was 7lb8oz. I'm living back in Florida again trying to beat the 7.5........FishOn....Jim
Yoo, send the blackdog down to Fla, I'm still looking to catch my first big mouth donkey. I think it can be done using this good looking bluegill pattern on the canals I fish, keep up with the awesome videos, Jose Santiago
I caught my first swimbait fish on a gantarell Jr. The color was spawn gill. The bass came from under a fountain, and I saw it smash it like its mind had gone bad from the bank. Awesome, I am hooked on swimbaits.
That's a freakin' great paint job on that bait! I like that gold color as the body of the bait...PB largemouth 7 lbs (a trophy in ohio) and a 15 lb. Striper 2 weeks ago on the Bass Pro Shops The Swerve glidebait...absolutely crushed it!
Biggest fish for me was a 6' tiger shark offshore. Largest fresh water was a 30" striper hooked up on a 6" castaic paddle tail. Oh, I forgot about the 40lb catfish I caught on an umbrella rig....rig was all mangled.
My best largemouth was at saguaro lake in Arizona 6.7 lbs. Am just starting to throw swim baits around. Caught my first glide bait fish nothing big but was super fun.
I just got a Texas Swimbaitz Texas Chopper Gill delivered today 51/2” 2oz. I was swapping hooks and split rings watching this video. Hopefully it’ll be a good one, this is the first glide I’ve bought from them.
11lb 3oz largemouth and my biggest overall fish is a 39lb 14oz flathead cat on a soft swimbait on a heavy jighead. I was actually fishing for big flatheads with swimbaits below a dams tail race. I’ve caught a lot of big flatheads on jigging spoons mostly and during colder months.
My PB largie is only 3.65 lbs. Still working on breaking 5. My most memorable fish is a 2.4 lb. 16” Spotted Bay Bass though. One of the hardest fighting fish for their size in SoCal salt. They don’t get as huge as largemouth. 2 to 3+ pounds is big, but they sure fight like hell!
Yo keep this one on the dl people had just started to forget abt the shellcracker!! My favorite swimbait of all time it was my first bait 6 years ago when I was in middle school and I’ve been catching on it ever since My pb swimbait fish was a 30” sea run striper super far inland I thought I’d hooked the state record bass lmao
Most memorable fish was a 52lb yellowfin tuna on a Shimano Trinidad TN 16 and 25lb test. The drug washers wore out shortly into the fight, and I had to use thumb drag for over an hour to land this fish from a panga in Las Arenas Baja Mexico.
Found one in a bush still haven’t fished it , had a friend tell me it was expensive now I gotta try it out - biggest bass to date is 5.2 on a blk/blue jig
Biggest fish I ever caught was a 6’ (black tip?) shark 40 miles offshore with my dad when I was a kid. Pb largemouth was just over 6lbs on a Zoom mag ol’ monster red shad color in a pond at my old apartment complex. Just getting into the bigger swimbaits this year 👍🏻
My PB is an almost 6# large mouth in a super tiny church pond back in Florida as a kid. Had been riding my bike there a ton over the course of a couple weeks and was even told multiple times from the maintenance man that there were no fish in there. Kept grinding it out and still after many years still my PB
My PB is a 9 pound Largemouth that I caught on Christmas eve in 2015. I was chunking an A-Rig around at a local lake and that fish knocked the crap out of it.
I caught my pb largemouth while me and my buddy were night fishing. I caught it on a Texas rigged baby brush hog. It weighed 8.2 I was only 14 at the time and I will probably never get the chance to catch another fish of that caliber on the lakes near me. Since being primarily spotted bass lakes a big largemouth is rare.
I was unfamiliar w/ that bait, but it would be killer up North here where I live. The main forage here is Bluegill, and bluegill imitators rule. My PB Largie is 7lbs 7oz, and it was actually skinny ! But for up here, that is pretty huge. That Shellcracker would probably do some damage for me !
8.5lb LM out of Canyon Lake Mako Shark 6' off SD-CA 40-50lb flathead out of canyon while bass fishing. Ask Luis he took the picture. Same day as his 10lber. 65lb Bluefin tuna last year. 🎉

Cool fish catches Jeff. My largest catch was a 7lb 14oz Largemouth on a black tube worm 🪱 many years ago. Keep up the good work. I love your content!

Cool Vid Geoff! Gotta love OG baits that helped you get where you are today! My PB is 14 lbs on an OG Optimum 10 and lost a bigger fish the next trip!
My personal best is a 8.7 largemouth on a AC plug on lake casitas in California. Thanks for the info Jeff always on point with your advice.
Not just best affordable bluegill swimbait, but one of the best....period. I have 3 and guard them with my life.
Caught an 8 lb 8 oz largemouth on July 17th on a lipless crankbait! I got a new rod for shallow cranking, and first trip out, I just took it to the dam at a local lake. Tournament Smallmouth PB 5.01. Awesome video.
I really enjoy your videos. I have only been fishing swimbaits for about a year and I have learned a lot by watching your videos. My PB is 11.4 pounds caught it hopping a blade bait in an urban pond.
My pb is 5.5 largie on a Mike bucca bullshad. Now I’m gonna have to try this one out. Great video. Keep them coming 🤙🏽🎣

This G2 gets bit for sure! My first bite on it was just like how you caught it. Cast and hit the water, one crank and boom!
Love the old school baits, 4.5 smallie
Yoo, send the blackdog down to Fla, I'm still looking to catch my first big mouth donkey. I think it can be done using this good looking bluegill pattern on the canals I fish, keep up with the awesome videos, Jose Santiago
I just recently landed a giant on a 6” citizen on 16lb line, once you gave me the info about the 16 instead of 20. The baits look more natural 🫡🫡🫡🫡

I fished the paint off that baby, i just repainted it in a crappie pattern , its now ready for more battles lol
My personal best largemouth bass so far is a 9.41lb caught in Socal last year. Looking to break it possibly with the shellcracker? Lol Thanks!
