  • Mid February and suddenly the days are getting longer . We managed out between storms but we still had to hide behind the island . The weather turned mid day and wind picked up . For the roach fishing check it out with our latest tips . And a sour note take all your rubbish home , only leave foot prints . And yes you do need a permit to fish .

    Hi Nicolas. Your videos are interesting and I watch them with pleasure. It's bad, of course, that someone doesn't clean up after themselves and clogs up nature. 💯👍

      @@grant1133 aye there was some big ones in there too. I had a thirty out of there about 15 years ago when Scotland had only produced one other from the canal, but kept it quiet as no one else knew about them at the time. Since then I think a previous Scottish record came out…..

    That was a good days fishing for you both, We never paid for a fishing permit I used to fish there in the 70s till 1987. and sometimes when am traveling to the Isle of Mull I have a spin, Do I need a day permit? We used to hire a boat from Ardli and camp on an Island, the Ardli Hotel
    said it was free to fish, looks like things have changed. Thanks for the videos. 🍺

    • @NicolasValentinScotland
      @NicolasValentinScotland  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fishing permit started probably 30 years ago starting at £25 for the year . 2 years ago it was £50 and now £75 . Salmon and sea trout is in total decline so they needed to take more money from the coarse anglers . Roach brings money to the association those days , how ironic ! Yes things have changed you can get a day permit for £ 10 , not sure where all this money goes , fish are not stocked and rubbish is not collected . But anyway thanks for your visit tax al terror , days have changed .

      Yeep Tony . It's getting cleaner everywhere but there is always this type of people . Those lamprey are a tenner a pop , they must have had some money . They also brought a big plastic bag , they must have had a plan . For someone else to pick all that trash up .

    Hi, I've watched you using the swimfeeder before and you were using 2 anchors. This time was it just one anchor and did you not cast far or was it still 2 anchors? TIA

    • @NicolasValentinScotland
      @NicolasValentinScotland  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      no , we always use one single anchor each . I tend to cast a small distance from the kayak , say 20 yards max . I let the feeder 2 minutes in the water then i will retrieve the feeder slowly and at that time the fish will try to grab the maggot . Roach can suck the maggot and if you do not strike you will miss the fish . feed around you and keep the fish in the swim , and as you go you will get more and more bites . easy enough . for the set up feeder , check the video . good set up the fish hook themselves , tight lines Ian

    The rubbish there is disgusting, one of the worst things about Scotland is how people treat it like a bin. Its people like that will end up get fishing banned.

    • @NicolasValentinScotland
      @NicolasValentinScotland  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those are clearly anglers , with not much knowledge . Lamprey are very expensive bait and normal anglers would freeze them again . But clearly this mob do not care . Apart from that the place look pristine , better now than it was , i think rangers are now picking there share of the mess . Grant . cheers pal .
